Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes I have also faced the same issue. My soles or feet get coloured in the same way.Originally posted by avithe1 View PostHi Team,
I see that my shoe sole is getting some black stain , probably due to exhaust.
I even tried covering that area of the bike with some tin , but no use.
What can be causing this black accumulation on my shoe soles?
I have attached a pic which shows little deposition , its is because I just cleaned the area (of the shoe) before the ride.
Believe me in 2 or 3 days the part of sole gets totally black and looks bad.
Anyone has faced this issue?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi, I just bought a second hand Yamaha FZ16.
Straight off, I am not impressed with the headlights. My daily commute has a few areas where there is a lack of street lights and in these stretches, all I can see is the glare from oncoming traffic. The road in front of me is not visible under my headlights (Reflective markings along the edge of the road are a boon).
I am hence planning to upgrade to a HID with projector setup, and I have a few questions regarding that.
1. Could you suggest any good stores in Bangalore where I can get the same installed. (Preferably around Marathahalli)
2. What are the legal limitations? Are HIDs allowed?
3. Should I go with 35 or 55w HID? (Can my bike support 55w?)
4. How much difference does the projector make, compared to just installing an HID bulb in the regular bulb socket.
5. As of now, I notice that the bike is wired in such a way that both the coils of the headlight bulb are turned on when I switch to high beam. Is this the stock behaviour for FZ?
My budget is around 2k.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Cheaper projectors does not perform well. Good ones costs out of budget, 5-10K depending on brand. Simplest upgrade is using H4 bulb, which is 60/55W, offers great difference. Good bulb like Phillips Premium costs as low as 120 rupees. To reduce load on battery, have to switch off light whenever engine is not running.Originally posted by maahinberi View PostHi, I just bought a second hand Yamaha FZ16.

Thanks for your answer. As mentioned in my edit of the question above, the bike is wired in such a way that both coils of the bulb are turned on when I switch to high beam. So would the stock alternator be able to take the load of 60+55w on high beam if I switch to such a bulb?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Normally fz is wired for single beam for high and low. Both beam comes to play only with the pass switch.Originally posted by maahinberi View PostHi,

You had changed the damaged the part after the drain bolt had got damaged. What is the called (part no. maybe)?
I asked the svc incharge to fix it, but he said that it can't be done as the whole lower section of the engine is a single part.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Use the AS 200 windshield. It's the best fit. Will need some custom clamps and additional holes via a drill though.Originally posted by Soulbiker View PostGuys i am planning to put windshield on my fz16... read some posts about putting cbr250r's windshield or AS200's windshield.. has some one done it on his fz16.. please share views...
