Hey guys. As per your suggestions, i have finalized Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70 R17 H-rated rear tyre but the shop guy is offering me 2014 made tyre. So is it OK to go for that as it is old stock tyre or should i search for latest stock? And 'm also waiting for fork solution..??

I guess you'll have warranty problems. Go for 2016 or later

Rubber tends to deteriorate with time. Don't buy a 2014 made tyre even on discount.

        Ride safe and have fun.

I think the coating on the metal is lost over time and it becomes like this.
First clean with diesel and then with mild soap and then apply liquid polish. It helps for sometime but then again, it is no premanent solution.

Why would you want to use WD on the engine

How many kms have you done after the tyres were changed?

If it is less than 150-300 kms, this is because the tyres need to bed in.

                              Hello all

Posting on behalf of a friend who owns fzs 2012 model with 30k on it which only returns 26kmpl

                              It has been timely serviced
Airfilter, sparkplug are replaced in the last service
Carb is cleaned and tuned at a trusted mechanic (it returned 40 when the carb tuning is done)
Rear tyre is Michelin pilot sporty
The mileage figures are the same from the past 3k kms

                              What might be the issue??

                                Hey guys.
Serious problem with my friend's FzS.
                                It's 2012 model clocking around 72k ODO.
The concern is bike is giving white smoke while revving more than 4000 rpm. And some sound also there in engine. Asked to a local machanic , he said problem is in ring piston as they need to be changed. Bike is sealed one with company fitted rings, piston, clutch plates, timing chain, etc.

We also got the bike checked in authorised Yamaha service centre. They also diagnosed the same issue.

Now the confusen is local machenic said that engine need only rings, piston, clutch plate and timing chain to be replaced. Piston would be of 25 number with somw lathe job you know. (Half engine work)

But YSC guys said that engine need full kit to be changed (Full engine work). They didn't agree to do half engine work as i mentioned earlier.

Now i am confused with these 2 options. Which option should i opt for? Economic one or expensive one?

Clarification :- My friend uses his bike much
less now a days (just 300-400 kms per month) because he got another bike and car but he still wants to keep Fz trouble free but in economical way.

Bike is still performing well as it is highly maintained. Always runs on motul 5100 semi-synthetic engine oil. Fuel economy 40+ in local and 45+ on highway. But top end reduced drastically. It used to clock 125 km/h (i personally hit that) but now it screams to get even 100 km/h and engine sounds like it will blast in any second at that point. This Problem starts with crossing 60 km/h.
But haven't noticed any drop in engine oil level.
                                Help it guys.

                                Cheers
