Re: Need Suggestion
Avoid using any additives.Originally posted by fz16joy View PostThanks for your feedback.
The ODO is clocking at 7452.4kms
Harshness in engine sound can be due to many reasons. Which engine oil are you using and what was the bike last serviced?
Ride safe and have fun.

I use Castrol Power 1 and I had serviced the bike about a month back.

That's the problem.
I have recently changed the timing chain but still it's kind of sounding a little shrill if heard carefully.
That's why I am confused.

Stick to same size with company choice of your preference.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostGuys my front tire is 33k kms old and i am planning to change it. Apart from the stock size and company, can i go for anything else? I primarily ride in city and the tire has some thread left but has many wrinkles.. My rear tire is 130/70 mrf.The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Today while riding i felt a sudden loss of feel from my front brake. It is very spongy now and i can even touch it to the handle bar. It was perfectly alright before that and i could brake with a slight touch. What can be the issue? It happened suddenly, i see no traces of oil leak

Bubble in the brake oil tube. You need to bleed the brake to get it alrightOriginally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostToday while riding i felt a sudden loss of feel from my front brake. Is the oil level alright? Usually happens when the oil level in the reservoir is a bit low. If the brake lever is very loose, it is the only thing. Oil is the culprit. Also check the caliper region for leaks.RVM is a good tool to see your buddys losing behind while racing :)

How old is your brake hose ? It could be old and expanding ... also there is the moisture.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostToday while riding i felt a sudden loss of feel from my front brake. Check if the bleed value is leaking
The brake oil is very hygroscopic it will absorb moisture from the atmosphere.
Also the organic brake pads will ... The best option is to replace your brake hose and bleed the entire system.
In case of atmospheric absorption, clean the brake disc and pad with Isopropyl Alcohol (or rubbing alcohol if not available). Diesel also works fine as to the best of my knowledge. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
My disk pads are only 1k kms old, however the hose is 3yr old. Oil is full and is a dot4 hence its transparent. But the problem sometimes vanishes & returns back.. I guess the hose & bubble may be the issue.. But as of now i won't touch anything until it goes wrong cause I've already spent Close to 20k on restoring my baby. In the coming months will change to p220 hose & will update you'll.Originally posted by Naveen Vajja View PostHow old is your brake hose ? Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have the exact same problem for long now. When i ride the bike after a gap of few hours, the brake is fine. But after riding a few kms, the lever becomes loose and it touches the grip. Also the braking starts to fade at the same time.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostMy disk pads are only 1k kms old, however the hose is 3yr old. I tried bleeding it once myself, but the problem resurfaced after a few days.
The problem is with the brake line or with the callipers. I didn't get time to get it checked.
Ride safe and have fun.
