Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Cbad fuel economy: change petrol pump, change air filter, adjust spark gap 0.8mm, check chain sprockets, change gears at around 3-4k rpm, check clutchplates, use light engine oil (motul 7100 10w40 5000km or elf moto 4 xt tech 10w50 4000km) adjust carburetor tuning and clean brakes and check freeplay. Check fuel consumption reserve to reserve. Fz normally gives slim guys 38-40, fat guys 35-36.Originally posted by snehith View PostRegards

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Initial ones had a different setup it had hole near reflector instead of the 4 holes.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostBought the longer mud flap of 2012year model for ₹140. Couldn't fit it with the given holes. Currently using double sided tape to hold it, will remove the flap as it spoils the look.
I removed it mainly because of looks even suffering the mud splashing

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Do not put a tube instead a patch work can be done from the inside of the tyre like a patch is glued in a tube when it gets punctured. This will be a permanent solution.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostThis happened and I had to put 100/90 17 tube. Will the small sized tube cause any issues??

I see your location to be hyderabad. I would like to have a look with the issue personally.Originally posted by snehith View PostHello guys!! I'm planning for a long ride on my fz later this month. My bike is a 2012 fzs and had done about 22k km but i have 2 major problems with my bike.
1) Very low fuel efficiency.i get around 23 kmpl.I'm unable to find whats the culprit here.the svc people are lazy as hell.and also i'm running on my first chain kit.is the problem caused by the chain kit? any suggestions on what to check?
2)My bike wobbles after crossing 60kmph.This problem started after changing both the tyres.the svc people said that the problem was with the new front tyre so got it replaced again but still the problem persists.also i have a leaking left fork.is this causing the problem??
please help me regarding this.considering to sell my bike if these aren't solved!
If you are near Suchitra (Kompally) area, dop me a PM and i can have a look at the issue and help you resolve it.
Thanks

Well, the tube has already been put. Not sure if the puncture guys are skilled enough to do what you have just told me.Originally posted by accuengineer View PostDo not put a tube instead a patch work can be done from the inside of the tyre like a patch is glued in a tube when it gets punctured. Just wanted to know, if 100/90 17 tube will run fine or not?The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
It'll be just fine . Tubes are inflatable rubber devices designed to expand and contract and take up the shape inside the tyre - they are surprisingly forgiving . Unless you have to stretch it so much during fitting on the rim as to risk tearing it . Good thing you tubed it , with such double holes it wouldn't be safe to use it otherwise .Originally posted by devils_friend View Post.. Just wanted to know, if 100/90 17 tube will run fine or not?

Great, thank you. I was skeptical to plug the hole on sidewall.Originally posted by Pinaki View PostIt'll be just fine . Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
No, there isn't any solution. What your mechanic suggested is right, unless there is leak from elsewhere.Originally posted by Mizt View PostMY ride is drinking up all the engine oil now. Had to change oils for 1500kms , my mechanic suggests bore piston has to be replaced or rebored. Is there any-other solution for this.
The bike is 50K on the ODO.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi! Friends i'm back again with some problems with my first disastrous bike fzs.
Now it's second time from the day i bought it, i have changed the carbon brush of starter motor of bike two times(costs around 500), is it normal or it's my bad luck, should i change carbon brushes again or opt for a new motor(1500 rs).
Now coming to quality control of yamaha, i had my bike's chain set replaced around 10000 km before, from what was it now. After replacing it, i immediately found that front sprocket wheel making some noise, surely it was manufacturing defect. But people in svc made fun off me and told me that i was being sceptical. Now after 10000 km it started making much louder noise, and now they are saying to replace it. I do regular chain lubrication and cleaning after every 750 km.
I'm sure svc makes excuses so they have not to change part for free.
So i complained about it to yamaha support, they replied me we can't do anything as the chainset life is 8000 and you have already rode it 10k kms.
So guys please help me guys what should i do, people at svc refuses to accept the problem and yamaha don't give damn about it.
As i had already written before my bike had started giving white smoke after 2nd service. Even then svc head refused to accept the problem.
Please suggest me a good service center with honest workers in delhi.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, Today while doing my routine chain clean up I noticed a lot of play in my sprocket. It isn't the normal side by side play but it's the rotation play. I have been facing a lot of jerk issues from the beginning but ignored it as i couldn't find a clear cut solution. Is it normal to have play? Or am i being too technical?
