  • Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S

Hi! Friends on sunday a truck rammed my bike from behind, bike was ok, just foot peg frame got tilted little bit. Fixed it using pipes.
But my rear shock absorber is slightly slid toward left where its was joined at the bottom of bike. I don't know whether it was like this from beginning or after accident.

What can be the cause of steering wobble above 60kph? It starts wobbling the moment I leave the throttle or decelerate.

      Cone set is changed recently.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Is it making noise on humps or path holes? Then the cone set is loose.
Check air pressure in tyre also.

I don't have a picture of my bike currently but this is the part that, I'm talking about. It holds the front sprocket in place. So now there's a play in my sprocket, which is causing hiccups in stop go traffic & on sudden acceleration...

Best bet will be to open the left side of the engine and see if any damage is there on the shaft or not.

show it to service center , only mechanic can say if there something wrong with it - but very unlikely . Sidewise play in front sprocket is normal , it is and should be kind of loose on this shaft and not a rigid fit . This is to take up lateral movement of the chain and rear sprocket owing to uneven road . You can check the front sprocket of a brand new bike to confirm this . The problems you mention is usually owing to incorrect chain slack or a worn chain / sprockets .

Actually I had changed my chain sprocket to X Ring Rolon Chain but due to my mechanic's stupidity of keeping the sprocket nut loose, I lost my front sprocket and got stuck, since there was shop nearby I bought the Yamaha 14t front sprocket of fz and put it in. Can this be the cause of the problem?

The sprocket nut is never kept loose , but even after full tightening , the front sprocket shall have some lateral (sidewise) play on the splined shaft . It is arranged in that way . No problem with the Yamaha part . Better show to service center or experienced mechanic if anything wrong - can't diagnose exact cause without seeing it .

                              • Engine Oil

                                Hi guys,

Can anyone suggest me which is the best engine oil for FZ16 (old model)?
                                Castrol Power1 / Yamalube / Gulf

I usually pour Castrol Power1. But recently my cousin brother (who has taught me riding and also owns an exactly similar FZ16 as mine) suggested me to pour Yamalube (which he uses) or Gulf.
