Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
They won't give warranty on this as they will surely say that it was damaged due to user error. I too had over-tightened the bolt and damaged the threads. But it was rectified by simply tapping new threads. Yours is broken and you should do as mentioned by rohit.Originally posted by devils_friend View Post

Actually oil was leaking slightly from the bottom, had to open it else I would have ridden the bike with the leakage and might have resulted in bigger issues later.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThey won't give warranty on this as they will surely say that it was damaged due to user error. Will visit the SVC soon and see what comes out.The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Re: Changing the Double wire throttle system of FZ 16 to Single wire throttle system
And why would you want to do that ?Originally posted by Pinak-the stunner View PostHello ,
Has any one tried to change the Double wire throttle system of FZ 16/S/Fazer to single wire throttle system like pre 2012 model?

Re: Changing the Double wire throttle system of FZ 16 to Single wire throttle system
Personally I feel the double wire system is bit tight, a bit harder & requires more twist of the wrist.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostAnd why would you want to do that ?
I have already changed both the wires twice within 10k kms. but the new wires also doesn't make much difference.
I think since we are overcoming the friction between cable & sheath of two wires, may be that's why the difference. if we reduce the system to erstwhile single wire, maybe it will result in smoother operation.

Mine is a 2011 model and the throttle has never caused me any problem.

Re: Changing the Double wire throttle system of FZ 16 to Single wire throttle system
ok.. and yes, even I have observed the single cable throttles of pre 2012 FZs. even though the cables are pretty old, the throttle play is still smooth. The only doubt is... the right side entire switch console & throttle grip needs to be replaced. will it fit properly in the post 2012 models? will it pose any problems? That's why I wanted suggestions from anyone who have tried to do so.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThen go ahead.Mine is a 2011 model and the throttle has never caused me any problem.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have changed the old carburettor to the new carburettor due to many problems i had faced. For changing either to double throttle cable or single cable, the whole right side switch console has to changed, But since you are already having the double throttle. I think your can just remove one cable But I don't think it will be as smooth as the double throttle. My opinion is that the double throttle is more smoother than the single throttle. What I would suggest is that you can add a few drops of sewing machine oil between the right hand grip. It is very thin and will make the movement smoother. my FZS is 2010 model
cheers

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Merely removing the second cable will not help. The reason being: when we twist the throttle to accelerate, the First cable comes into picture & dos the job. when we release the throttle to decelerate/stop, the throttle locks after some free play on the reverse side (just like any normal motorcycle). this locking/stopping the throttle on the reverse side is taken care by the 2nd cable.Meaning, that if the 2nd cable is removed, the throttle will swing freely to the reverse side.Originally posted by accuengineer View PostI have changed the old carburettor to the new carburettor due to many problems i had faced.
