    Its a good bike to start, even i had only 50-60kms experience on a passion before i got my fzs. Just control your urge to ride fast . Initially it felt too powerful for my skills and i never rode above 33kph for first few days.

          how do you ride on open roads/highways
          this may sound stupid but
          Do you keep accelerating in between or keep the throttle open in one place.
          NO matter how many Cars/Bikes/Trucks/animals . on the road , you must still rely on your ability :D

            Uh......... Ok............ Let's see.
            You open the throttle till you reach the speed limit set for the road then drop the throttle until you're slow enough to accelerate again.
            You change lanes only by show appropriate side's indicator.
            And you flash you light and honk your horn to warn before you overtake.
            Dude there is a bunch more rules but basically they apply to city roads too.
            Is this your first time on a highway? Coz if it is you must have an experienced highway rider with you for the trip. Its kind of an unwritten rule. Hope this helps

              yea iv never gotten out of the city - but me and my cousin are planning a short trip
              he will be along - its just that i had red somewhere about running the engine at the same rpm for a long time isnt good ?

              Also now that i have changed my tyre . my suspension has started making squeaky sounds .. gotta fix that :P
              NO matter how many Cars/Bikes/Trucks/animals . on the road , you must still rely on your ability :D

                Squeaky sound from suspension is not a good sign. Does the bike seem lower when you're on it? If so its replacement time bro.
                There are multiple threads on the forum on touring and also a separate section for it with quite a bit of knowledge. Also a how to ride thread in that section. And lastly don't worry and just ride like you usually do keeping my three points in mind and be careful. Wear protective gear and regulate your speed. And don't forget to have fun. Cheers

                  guys i'm in for a new rear tyre for my fzs v1.I was thinking about the stock rear tyre of duke 200.how will it affect the handling? is it prone to punctures as much as stock fz tyre?n what about the efficiency?will there be a decrease in fuel efficiency?

                    can i get my service done without choosing to get oil from yamaha and fix other issues -
                    like 1) need to get my brakes fixed
                    2) squeaky rear suspension ( only after i changed my tyre )
                    3) i also want to get the carb tunned - i've been reading about it - what do i tell him -
                    4) i feel my clutch is too hard - the lever mostly - after riding in traffic i get a terrible palm ache can that be fixed by getting a new metal clutch lever ?

                    also recently iv been getting vibrations near the end of the fuel tank just where the seat starts - its not a pleasant feeling while riding . Any info on that ?

                    if im not wrong - a thinner tyre means less friction = more efficiency - thats why when your tyre pressure is low - your mileage tends to drop .

                    About the efficiency of a tyre and handling - im not the right person to comment on that = Goodluck

                      Duke tyre is 150 in width and that will touch the tyre hugger. Handling, fuel efficiency, chain life will be affected. Why do you want to go for such a wide tyre? Go for 140/60 or 140/70 profile.

                      1) Yes you can choose your own oil. Change the oil filter when you change the oil.

                      2) Get the suspension checked, their is some issue in it.

                      3) Carb tuned for what? If the bike is running without any issues, why do you want to change the settings?

                      4) Get the clutch play lever adjusted. Also, check for any damage at end's of clutch wire.

                      5) Maybe the seat is loose and hasn't been fitted properly.

                        fz16 spoke wheel modification project estimate help!

                        Hello all bikers ,
                        fz tyre details are;
                        Tire size (front/rear) 100/80-17 / 140/60-R17
                        I want to remove alloys and go for spoke wheel assembly , I am aware that i hv to change breaks too to make it happen!
                        I want advice and prices for these products so i can decide if i shld do it or not!

                        what i want to know is
                        rim cost of both wheels which will be exact dimensions of current fz16 tyre set,
                        and cost of front and rear disk assembly!
                        thank you for your help guys in advance , you all are experts and surely you will have something to say anout this idea!

                          FZ parking light on when front brakes are pressed

                          Hi all,

                          In my FZ when I press the front brakes the parking light and Speedo meter light are getting on. Sometimes its glowing for long time. Please help on this.

                            You "might" be having an issue with you BCU, body control unit, which regulates the electricity to all the electronic components on the motorcycle. Also check for wires fused (if any mods were done) and also check for proper earthing and plug connectors.
