The diaphragm(controlled by pressure difference of incoming air) compensates to certain extent with appropriate raise in jet-needle from main-jet.
Some argue, low oxygen per spark/combustion => low power.
Even if it's a FI motorcycle, I believe they've to WOT often to raise RPMs quickly.

I've never been at 4,000m altitude, so no personal experience only on-line material/info. Also, you can jump in, butt in & interrupt any time, cheers.

Motul ss is usually upwards of 300/- but shell will be about 210/- mineral. But minerals you should use from gulf or motul. Shell should only be ax7 ss oil worth about 380/-, others from shell are no good.

First of all ,thank you for interacting,as I'm a Ns owner and bought fz only cuz it was a steal deal .
Second ,I know of xxw50 oils only from motul .
Kindly mention a mineral motul oil name .(which is best for fz, and of course is w40) .
As after using litres of motul oils ,I don't even think of any other company, no matter how cheap oil is .

After a lot of internet research, came to know that faulty secondary air injectors lead to poor performance of a vehicle due to irregular supply of air to the engine and its also a reason for a vehicle hesitating to accelerate.

Thanks SparKot for the info.

Another query! Does the usage of shell advance ax7 10w40 cause a drop in the mileage? The bike is running pretty good on it, its smooth, gear shifts are crisp, but the bike returned a few kms less, (2-3 kms) per litre upon its use.

Since 10w40 is not a recommended grade, does it cause any problems? My new mech doesn't let me use any other oil and says the oil best suited for fz!

I haven't faced any drop in mileage using Shell AX7. How much milege are you getting with this oil an previous to this? Riding style, tyre pressure, dry chain also impacts mileage.

Cheerz!!

I hope by secondary air injector you mean "AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM" .
Mine AIS(AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM) is not worling well to.I had misfiring issue and the AIS Is bypassed.WILL change my AIS and see what will happen.

DOES CHANGING CARBURATOR OF RECENT FZ S ON FZ16 gives mileage gain.

My SVC mechanic gurantees of 5 kmpl gain and is forcing me to install the new carburator.

It sounds quite a lot like your svc mech may have screwed up your present carb. Hence tthe pushy attitude. Don't get the new carb unless the old one is ruined. And even then get it elsewhere coz to me this mech sounds like a scam artist.

My bike jerks while accelerating and when releasing accelerator. When cruising its fine.
Mech says its carburator problem and cleaning carb wont help.

I am getting about 30-33 when checked with reserve to reserve method.

I know him very well and as far as i know he is not trying to make profit from me.

I give him tip in every servicing.

Dont know why he dont wanna hear complain regarding carburator and says every bike of first gen fz has this problem and is manufacturing defect.

30-33kmpl is fine for 1st gen FZ. If you are fully convinced about your mechanic's advice, go for carb change.
