chain set is the most probable.. I get similar vibrations when dust accumulates on the chain.. Washing, tightening and lubrication is called for if it hasnt been done. Second inline are the air filter and sparkplugs.Originally posted by digitalD View Post

^^^ another thing that you should get checked are the drive cushes. With age these rubber cushes harden up and do no effectively absorb final drive train vibrations thus making the bike feel viby and rough. Replacing bad cushes will make a world of difference.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

guys,
my friend dropped my bike on sand. lucky he didn't get hurt. however, my gear shift lever bent badly. i got it temporarily straightened out but i really want to replace it coz it looks horrible. also, that plastic panel on either side of the engine has been scratched up badly. how much does it cost for both these parts to be replaced? the plastic panel only needs replacement on the left side. the other side is fine. some insight on the prices guys?Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly

If i am correct the Engine front panel comes as a whole piece. That panel will be around 550 bucks. The gear lever with the whole assembly including the rod connecting to the gear system will be under Rs.250-300/-.

i've been having issues with my front tyre losing air pressure. i checked thru the tyre and also got it checked the puncture guy but couldn't find any punctures. filled up nitrogen on both tyres. in less then 24hrs there was a drop of 3ps in the front one, the rear was good. the rim looks good, but have to check it thoroughly. could anyone please help me out on this. will the showroom be of any help on this?

Most likely your front tire is suffering from micro puncture.. the best way to detect it is using soap/detergent foam based water and brush your tire with it... if in a particular region the bubbles are constantly forming then you have hit the jackpot. I have already mentioned this quite a few posts back. If nothing comes up then get the valve checked.
I would also suggest, get the inner rim clean thoroughly. Sometimes too much dust accumulation also results in dust leakage.

Guys I serviced my bike on 15th march when I saw that the battery in my bike is of AMCO company. I had always heard that the stock battery is of MINDA. I service my bike at YFS Kestopur, Baguiati in Kolkata.
Also I want to know how the adjustment of the drive chain should be, I mean that should it be too tight without any slackness as done by the SC or should it be a little loose to make it move somewhat freely.Last edited by Abhisek; 03-24-2012, 01:24 AM.

read either in this thread or tyres.
Buy from MRF dealer and then send a mail to MRF asking for the price and also mention to them about your purchase. In a week or two MRF dealer gives you a call mentioning that he charged more and returns you the extra amount.
Try it out

Hey Bro , I was at my wits end regarding this issue , I suffered for 6 months on it , Atleast you have a 3psi drop , for me it used to drop from 28psi to about 6 psi overnight ...Originally posted by Duoscribe View Posti've been having issues with my front tyre losing air pressure. i checked thru the tyre and also got it checked the puncture guy but couldn't find any punctures. filled up nitrogen on both tyres. in less then 24hrs there was a drop of 3ps in the front one, the rear was good. the rim looks good, but have to check it thoroughly. could anyone please help me out on this. will the showroom be of any help on this?
No puncture , no rim bend either ... it's a beading leakage , where dust particles have settled into the area where rim meets tyre causing the leakage . tell the SVC to fix the beading leakage and your ride should be good once again
Be aware that if you ride on a low pressure for any extended period the problem repeats itself as i got to know . but told the SVC it's a repeated complaint and got it fixed for free

the soap water with brush test was done by the puncture guy. he even removed the tyre and did the dip-it-in-water test. no avail.Originally posted by shv18 View PostHi,

i've had this problm for quite some time now. maybe couple months now. its so annoying to get the air filled ever now and then. and even more so that i couldn't find the puncture. will take to Pacer and get it checked.Originally posted by nand15 View PostHey Bro , I was at my wits end regarding this issue , I suffered for 6 months on it , Atleast you have a 3psi drop , for me it used to drop from 28psi to about 6 psi overnight ...

Hi guys,
I installed a 180cc big bore kit from Joel.
Had it installed at the Yamaha svc in TVM. It took them 5 days to install. Had to switch to 115 main jet to fuel the larger cc engine. I did not push them because I wanted the job to be done with special attention.
The engine is still within the 2K run in and I am keeping the rpm below 4.5K.
There is a knocking upon accelerating from a stand still or when going up a slope. However, now 300+ kms with the kit, the knocking has come down.
There is a noticeable increase in torque and pick up. I have not yet tested the top end speed because of the run in period. I am unsure of the mileage at this point. But I have observed that it drinks a lot of fuel during the city runs. Mileage is not a major issue for me as I usually use the bike for my weekend trips only. Hope all will fall into place upon completing the run in.
My next step is to fix the Cosworth air induction kit I had bought some time back. But this needs a bigger carb. The stock carb will not suffice.
I am now in search of a P180 29mm carb. And the search is not successful.
I have asked Joel to source a bigger carb. Awaiting his response.
Hope to get response from everyone and especially from guys who have installed 180cc kits.Last edited by danny king; 03-23-2012, 07:00 PM.Your bike is a part of you....

Is my Engine in trouble??
Hi Guys,
I lately started to feel the engine being very rough and getting hot too quick even the exhaust beat is different.
I have just completed 10,200KM on the odo and completed all 6 free services at regular intervals.
Last service was done in 8,900KM , just to get a heads up on what is the problem with my ride , took it to a trusted mechanic....
He gave me the shock of my life "there seems to some issue with engine are u within the waranty period??"
He suggested me to take it to the SVC and get it fixed.
I would be taking my ride to SVC on monday to get it checked.
Did anybody else had the similar issue with their rides can you guys throw some light into this??

i would highly recommend please get the mods done only from Joel. He is the best person to suggest you to take the necessary steps for the same. Please don't experiment with getting parts from somewhere else. Not because of the fact that he will make more money out of you but because he doesnot guarantee that his kits will work efficiently with other performance kits from other suppliers. You will most likely need 33/34mm CV carb Mikuni to get better response.Originally posted by danny king View PostHi guys,

I remember speaking to RanjithMN on his experience, post headwork on his bike.. the mileage is not going below the range of 43-47kmpl on his souped up ride.
The knocking issue is most likely because of inefficient fuel supply to the chamber. I guess Abhimanyu31 is the best person to give us gyan of the century on this one
