If you can claim insurance, IMO, try getting your rims changed in the same. Do let us know what was the outcome and what hassles you had to face.

    Cheerz!!
I will visit the svc in a day or two and see what they say here in Jammu. I had earlier asked in Jaipur and they readily agreed and said the rims can be claimed. Will revert back on this.

I had installed a tube to reach my company as the tyre was not retaining any air after the bend.

    Ride safe and have fun.

Lucky you (if you're able to claim). Chennai/Bangalore - Rim bend saar, no guaranty/warranty/insurance!
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Just called my SVC to check if they replace it under warranty or not, I was told "if it is accident, no insurance claim, but for other you can claim it". But, I will have to pay full amount to SVC and the Insirance company will refund money later

          Cheerz!!

Na na.. Bike leke jayege.. They say random things when the bike isn't present.

My brother had also got the money like this. First we had to pay the money to svc and then the insurance company puts the amount in our account.

Full money is returned or any depriciation is there?

Might give this a shot during next service.

The labor charges are not included.
He had to pay close to ₹15k for the repair and got ₹12k back. Full amount wasn't returned as they plastic are not covered in 100% claim. :/

I had claimed insurance on my front rim when it was bent in an accident in early 2011. Not sure, but I think I got 90% for it. Was from kerala.

Accidental damage should be a valid "claim" if your insurance covers damages to your vehicle , other than the mandatory 3rd party claims . Most policies do that . Secondly the definition of accident for the purpose of all insurance ( as per IRDA guidelines ) is that the cause of damage should be i) violent ii) external and iii) unforeseen . Hope this helps a little .

                        REVZ m is medium
                        REVZ s is soft
REVZ y is hard, I guess.

For 3rd party insurance, the coverage(money of benefit amount) is given to the person who is involved in the accident apart from you(if you hurt any other person by colliding with him). And for full insurance (which is done while purchasing the bike & in most of the cases afterwards also) the insured is all the third parties, you & your bike. In this case the amount for the repair is needed to be first paid by you, and then the insurance company reimburse it in your account. The amount that will be given to you will be around 90% for the metal parts, 30% for the fiber parts & 0% (no refund) for the glass parts which are damaged as per the estimate by the insuance company. Hope this might provide some help .

Yes, there are several indications. Chain slack despite getting it tightened, loss of initial acceleration, excessive sound are major symptoms. Post a pic of your rear sprocket here.
