  • Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S

Just got a new rear tyre(Michelin Pilot Sporty 140/70, 17")) fixed onto my Fz-S from JC road, banglore. I hate that rear stock Tyre, almost 15 punctures in a span of 1 year. we dont have to remove the Tyre hugger. No changes in handling the bike.
I have driven TVS Wego, Activa, CT 100, RX135, GS150 on the same roads and had no punctures in any of the bikes/scooters).
Anyone know the exact price for this tyre as i was was quoted 5.7k and he sold it for 4.2k.

Is there anyone who has changed the headlight on FZ-s to round dome.
Anyone used handle bar risers. I need to lean forward a bit and my body weight is on the handlebar, so using handlebar risers, i will get to hold the handlebar not leaning on it and taking all the shocks through my hands.

Sorry for my ignorance. I am actually looking for the colour code of FZ/FZS. Does Yamaha print it on any part of the bike like in cars? Or could anybody please tell me how to find it? The guys at the showroom/service are not at all helpful. Thanks

        Hi Guys

Guys i need an advice from you all also

Recently my petrol pipe was cut and around 4 to 5 liters of petrol was stolen. The petrol locks that are available in the market are not of good quality and easy to open with any key after a month or so. Please suggest a good company lock and where i can get in Pune.

My bike is 34k on the ODO and nowdays I feel it has become very sluggish , downshifting has been difficult and whenever I shift the bike's response is delayed. Is it due to the fact the bike is getting old and some parts changing or a general service and tuning will do the trick. One more thing I have dunlop tuffgrip 140/70 at rear is it what caused the bike to sluggish being heavy and big. Although I have used it for almost 10,000KMs its started to feel sluggish and lot slower when compared to the newer bikes.

Clucth plates seems to have gone kaput. Change them if you haven't changed them till now.

Check out the air filter and carburator. If necessary, change the air filter. Also, check whether the chain sprockets have loosed up or not.

Get the A.R. Fuel lock. I'm using one since 4 months with satisfactory results. I never tried opening it with other key though. I got it here in mumbai for 160 bucks. This AR guys supply to yamaha. Check their website A R Auto

No need to change the clutch plates. First check air filter, chain, throttle cable free play etc.

Is it legal to change the number plate size? I wanted to make the front one like the shown in pic. Will it look fine?

                        Illegal.
Leave aside the plate size, changing the font size for registration plates is also illegal.

Air filter changed at 24k. I think it should be changed as well.

                              Apologies.
I guess I read it wrong. I thought you changed your air-filter first time at 24k. But you never said that!

So yes if your air-filter was changed 10k kms back then its best to change it.

                              Cheers!

                                hi guys

having a really bad time with my bike....had 2 minor accidents in the last 1 month...both the times fork got misaligned and lots of scratches as well. I'm not willing to risk my it anymore. So I'm thinking of fixing a crash bar. Pls can you guys show pics of your bikes if any of you have crash bars installed. I want a crash bar which will serve its purpose at the same time wont spoil the beauty of the bike a lot. Please help me guys.

and the scratches I have got are on the silencer and on the right edge of the frame holding the headlamp. Doesnt bother me a lot but still any idea to get rid of them?
