So, I have to apply 1/4th of clutch to get moving from the first gear. I am very doubtful about this whole thing. Does anybody else know details about this setting?

The positive thing to come out from this 3rd free servicing is that bike feels much smoother than the past.
Yes they do that. Don't worry. It's very easy to adjust it to your preference. Just check the manual.

Thanks man! How much clutch free play you use? I can get used to this new setting but I was wondering what people use and what is the best for the bike. I tried google but I am at complete dark due to lack of my mechanical knowledge.

Guys, when is the idle time to change the clutch cable and accelerator cable? My clutch lever play has increased and accelerator feels hard to twist, nearing 14.5k kms on odo. Also, how to check whether the front and rear suspension are working fine or not? I feel every jerk while riding. Service is due tomorrow. Anything else to be checked while servicing?

        Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

You can see check the wire especially below the handle bar where all the wires are wide together. See if the cable is good or not. If there is any cut or damage. Please ask them to change.
Regards the suspension. It should be better since you have only crossed 14.5k kms. But if u feel lot of noise coming from rear area while driving in bumpy roads get it checked.
I guess you are giving it for free.
          So please ask them to
          Change front brake oil
Clean the chain cover near the engine. They usual dont do. And your chain life goes off soon.
          Charge your battery.
If any other problem you got tell them.

Well the best for the bike would be a setting where there is minimum free play. This will ensure that the clutch engages or disengages completely with minimal slipping. But it may not be the most practical setting for riding as the clutch will engage/disengage at the very end of the lever movement range. I use my clutch where it works about 1/4th way from completely released.

Check the cable at the levers and at the engine area, if you see threads coming out, change them.
I haven't changed them in my 248xx kms..

checked the spark plug just now and found this different color and oily.. Is the bike running rich ? looks like it.. or is it leaking oil into the chamber ?
But why different color of the tip ? If it was rich, it should have been dark thoughout, but not like this..

My spark plug looks pretty much the same. Only i don't have any oil deposits on it. My question is whether the bike is running rich.

But the base of the tip, which I have mentioned in the pic, has light color in one half and dark on the other it always used to be of light color throughout before. And the threads were oily this time. Mixture seems to be on the richer side.
To make the mixture to the optimal setting from rich side, we turn the screw clockwise.. Right ??

After cleaning the plug myself, I felt slightly better throttle response.

Don't tune the carb yourself. Infact, get the carb cleaning done at SVC, run for some kms and check the condition of the plug.

Regarding the oil deposits, looks like oil is entering into the combustion chamber. Remove the air filter and notice any oil near the suction pipe, if the oil is in greater quantity, there are chances of piston ring going kaput.

Infact I had reported the same few pages back. Let me search that and post it here.
I had changed the air-filter myself and found a good amount of oil in there. But I got replies that its normal And also my oil level had gone down couple of weeks back. Checked oil level today and it was normal.
If the piston rings are leaking, won't it cause smoke or something from the exhaust ? I am not getting anything like that.
will check for oil deposits in the air-filter chamber again tomorrow.

EDIT: this was in the air-filter chamber http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1025891

Mostly I wash the bike myself at home, so no pressure wash, just normal bucket water. But i do take it for a pressure wash sometimes. Today also gave her a pressure wash.
Does the water perssure cause any problem like this ?
