Can't comment on sz-r, as haven't ridden one..Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Postso it means gear ratios of fz and sz-r are same till 5000rpm because sz-r also touch 60kmph @5000rpm...???
You can check both their specfications.. The exact gear ratios are given there..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Exactly @ 4k rpm, the speed is 57kph. So, 60kph should be close to that only. As far as i remember, 100kph was 7k or something, not sure though.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostHi friends...
can any one tell me at what rpm fz hits 60kmph and 100kmph...????
thanks in advance...

For that, you need to visit respective showrooms and ask for assistance.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI am looking for a tall geared 150cc bike...

mine does 62km/h at 5000rpm..Although the observations are not wrong, it should be added that there are far too many variables here to generalize this way.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI think i'll have to check it myself....
This includes tire pressure, slope/gradient of the road, ambient air temperature and pressure, engine health, weight on the bike etc. just to name a few.
RPM alone cannot be considered as an indicator of gear ratios.
The FZ/Fazer series bikes are generally short-geared. Thats why they have good acceleration but lack top-speed compared to other bikes in this segment (the Pulsars for e.g. are taller geared). If you are looking for exact gear ratios, here is the information from the Yamaha website.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostI am looking for a tall geared 150cc bike...
For FZ/Fazer: 1st=2.714, 2nd=1.789, 3rd=1.318, 4th=1.045, 5th=0.875
For SZ-R: 1st=2.714, 2nd=1.789, 3rd=1.318, 4th=1.045, 5th=0.916
You can see that the gear ratios are the same except for the 5th cog. Its taller on the SZ-R.
Hope that helps
Cheers!!Your pair of feet can tire you... Your pair of wheels can never tire you...

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Well, not really, the bike will reach to its said RPM at the exact gear. With a pillion sitting, load on the bike or something like that, the only thing will be that, the speed will be the same, but we will not be able to feel it until we see the speedo for the sameOriginally posted by arijitmaniac View PostAlthough the observations are not wrong, it should be added that there are far too many variables here to generalize this way.
