No squeaking sound from the brake pad. But, it surely looses its bite after riding some kms. The shoe seemed fine to me. My bad, i forgot to take a pic.

For the front brake, just by looking he said its fine.

When is the right time to change the pads? Closing in almost 10k now. Will the smooth brake pads cause any issue in near future?

Cheerz!!
Don't trust the SVC guys.. No brake would be able to give optimum preformance after doing 10k kms.. Change the pads after every 6-7k kms.. Atleast that's what i do..
brakes should always be at their best..
yea, they do rub very hard with a sand paper..
if the pads are smooth, it would cause metal to metal contact between the pad and the shoe.. Hence damaging the shoe..
the pad lining is what stops the wheel.. If its gone, the metal part of the pad won't be able to stop the shoe and would in turn damage the shoe..

Ride safe and have fun.

Actually, there is still good amount of liner on the pad and thats what was making me think that, with this much liner left, why isnt the brake working properly.

Will surely change it at the next service.

Cheerz!!

maybe the smoothness on the shoe was not allowing for enough friction to buildup..
yea.. Do so next time.. Till then ride safe..

yes, you can now change to synthetic oils..
if you are mostly a city rider with normal kinda riding style with not many high stint of high revs.. go for semi Synthetic oil..
and if you like red-lining the rpm's.. then go for full-synthetic..
you can try Motul.. its mostly used by riders here..
you can try Motul 5100 Semi-Synthetic or Motul 7100 Full-Synthetic
i am mostly a city rider
what about shell semi synthetic oil and castrol ??
dont they work well in performance and engine because they promise a lot

better to go for tried and tested motul.

there are many fakes in the market of castrol.

most of the times the service centre guys have motul, so easier to get the whole process done.

you should use Semi-synthetic.. it should be more than enough for your needs..

never go for castrol.. just last month have used castrol power1.. the engine started behaving in a really bad way.. changed after only 400kms..
shell is also a good choice and is available a most of the shops..
and about motul.. many members here use it and have given positive response.. you can also look into the 'engine oil' thread for better knowledge..

Ride safe and have fun.

Normally SS oils should be changed between 3000-3500 kms..
15w50 would be more ideal for our bikes..

Some correction, SS oil should be changed in between 2500-3000 kms or within 70-75 days from the last fill.

msandeep27.. Always go with the recommended viscometric that is mentioned in the owners manual. It will help the bike in the long run.

Nopes, mineral is not recommended to be drained at that level. Mineral oil should never be stretched till that level.
