    • Facing skidding issue very often in my yamama FZ16.

Guys am facing skidding issue very often and every time i face that i am using only my rear brake . I have ridden 6000kms with the stock MRF tryes that comes along with fz16. I face skidding issues even at a mere speed of 30kmph. Shall i go ahead and buy this "ABS" which this site is selling ("Saferide ABS") or should i go for a different tyre brand, asking this because i dont see MRF tyres too worn out. What might be the reason for facing this issue too often? How can i avoid this issue?

Simply your braking style is worng.. Use biththe brakes at the same time,.
and even at 20km/h, you apply the rear brake hard.. The bike will skid..
the tyres have nothing to do with this..
read the Max section of xBhp.. There an article has been written about proper braking.. It would be very helpful for you problem..

and those aftermarket abs systems are never safe.. Don't go for them..

As rightly said in the above post, you have to use both the brakes simultaneously. If you are not sure how to use both the brakes, be gentle with speed and learn the braking skill. Never ever use rear brake when you are speeding. The bike might fishtail and skid at the same time.

          • Strange issue with accelerating

            Hey Fziers,

I have been facing this issue since last 15 days.. my bike doesn't keep up with the acceleration.. when I try to rev it, it turns off.. it starts with the first crank and stays on until I do not accelerate.. only thing i was able to do was slowly accelerate it.. initially it accelerates upto 2000 rpms and later after engine heats up a little max it goes is upto 4000 rpms.. (i have to keep the bike on for 20 to 30 mins to reach till 4000 rpms)...

if any one has faced such issue or have any idea about the problem please help me.

I have checked the carbeurator for water in it.. but found nothing and the flow is steady from the carb.
Checked the CDI as well.. the problem persisted with a different working CDI so my CDI is fully functional..

Thanks in advance .. RIDE SAFE

Do you use the choke when you fire up the bike for the first time in a day? If not, the choke has gone kaput. Also, do not keep any papers under the seat that will close the suction port.

How many kms have you covered?

                  Cheerz!!

The PUC has to be renewed every 6 months, no matter where you stay.

                    • Re-tuning of fazer 150

                      Hi Xbhp-ians,
Last weekend, i gave my bike(Fazer) for service and comaplained about milage issue with my bike (it was returning about 32km/L), and i think they have re tuned the bike, and now i think i am running on a lean mixture.
                      So, my question is,
Can this tuning be done at home(using the AFR screw alone)?
                      Is the procedure fairly simple?
I do not want to go the SVC as i have to be there at 7:30am , for them to take my bike into service.
I want to get the stock tuning because i read here that running on lean mix can harm the bike.

                      Thanking everyone in advance,

                        hi all,

i have an fzs which is two years old.the bike is in very good condition but the paint has faded a lot.

i want to change the look of my fzs as the fz16 new model that has come.i want to change to pure black like the fz16

i enquired in yamaha and they told me the full color kit will cost around 7.5k.

i read somewhere the cost to change the color is only 1800 rupees.

can anyone guide me in this and let me know

                        many thanks.

What the yamaha guys are asking for is for the full body parts..
1800rs might be to only paint the parts..
but 7.5k is for full new parts..

                          Ride safe and have fun.

Engine Guard.. Costs - 800(Only the bottom cover) and Labor - 400
                                Angel Light.. Costs - 400 and labor - 600

My question is, aren't these pricing expensive ?? At least the labor is expensive i think.. Please provide your inputs. Thanks in advance..
