Re: Facing skidding issue very often in my yamama FZ16.
nadz11.ns & devils_friend - Thanks guys for your thoughts and i will do the same.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostAs rightly said in the above post, you have to use both the brakes simultaneously. If you are not sure how to use both the brakes, be gentle with speed and learn the braking skill. Never ever use rear brake when you are speeding. The bike might fishtail and skid at the same time.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Full kit was around 4-4.5k only. Painting will cost 3.5k min, normally everyone quote 5.5-6k.Originally posted by binavijay View Posthi all,
i have an fzs which is two years old.the bike is in very good condition but the paint has faded a lot.
i want to change the look of my fzs as the fz16 new model that has come.i want to change to pure black like the fz16
i enquired in yamaha and they told me the full color kit will cost around 7.5k.
i read somewhere the cost to change the color is only 1800 rupees.
can anyone guide me in this and let me know

I actually got a quote of 5200rs for the full body kit from svc..Originally posted by deville_56 View PostFull kit was around 4-4.5k only. Painting will cost 3.5k min, normally everyone quote 5.5-6k.
a query.. How can we make gear shifting smooth..?
i am disappointed with the gear shifts.. Feel so hard.. Gets stuck in neutral a lot when changing from 1st to 2nd.. Also when downshifting, have to release the clutch a bit for every down-shift
this creats a problem when a fast down-shifting is required..
what can be done..?
have done 19k+ and oil change was done about 600kms ago.. Using yamalube SS oil..and the chain-set was changed at 12k odo.. Chain lubing is done on regular intervals..

Had the same issue with a broken clutch return spring. Spring costs less than 10 bucks, labor some 200 max.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View Posta query.. How can we make gear shifting smooth..?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
same here dude infact, along with stiff gear change i, am also facing roughness in my bike's engine after few kms of ride........Yamalube SS oil is the culprit here i believe......i have the same oil in mine and is forced to use it till i complete free servicing......try using Motul SS oil......u may feel difference......Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostI actually got a quote of 5200rs for the full body kit from svc..

What you mean to say that the clutch return spring might have broken..? Any way to know that for sure..?Originally posted by deville_56 View PostHad the same issue with a broken clutch return spring. Spring costs less than 10 bucks, labor some 200 max.
Its my first time using it.. I was on mineral-oil for the most part.. And it was not like this..Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postsame here dude infact, along with stiff gear change i, am also facing roughness in my bike's engine after few kms of ride........Yamalube SS oil is the culprit here i believe......i have the same oil in mine and is forced to use it till i complete free servicing......try using Motul SS oil......u may feel difference......
maybe the oil might be the culprit.. Will change it as soon as i complete some more kms..
but i don't think its the oil..
bad oil can make the shifting hard, but not get stuckin between..

Can't blame Yamalube SS. I'm using it alternating with Motul SS.Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postsame here dude infact, along with stiff gear change i, am also facing roughness in my bike's engine after few kms of ride........Yamalube SS oil is the culprit here i believe......i have the same oil in mine and is forced to use it till i complete free servicing......try using Motul SS oil......u may feel difference......
Yeah. Check it with SVC. I got it replaced under warranty once and second time after warranty, both times had the same issue, gear stalling between 1 and 2 and needing declutching b/w gears.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostWhat you mean to say that the clutch return spring might have broken..? will visit svc in coming days.. Its getting annoying..
just now came from market, the gear got stuck in between a busy crossing
had to push 3-4 times to get into 2nd gear..

Re: Re-tuning of fazer 150
Query Approved and MergedOriginally posted by Sunir-Dust View PostHi Xbhp-ians,
Last weekend, i gave my bike(Fazer) for service and comaplained about milage issue with my bike (it was returning about 32km/L), and i think they have re tuned the bike, and now i think i am running on a lean mixture.
So, my question is,
Can this tuning be done at home(using the AFR screw alone)?
Is the procedure fairly simple?
I do not want to go the SVC as i have to be there at 7:30am
, for them to take my bike into service.
I want to get the stock tuning because i read here that running on lean mix can harm the bike.
Thanking everyone in advance,
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Its the same with me also. The shifts work like butter smooth for sometime after servicing. But, after some days, its back to square one. Also, sometimes the shift are amazing and sometimes the shifts are pathetic. Down shifting is not an issue. I am not able to figure out what is exactly worngOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View PostExactly the problem..

The SVC replaced a damper in rear wheel to avoid that "khatak" sound when shifting in the first gear.
Can somebody highlight what can be done?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
i personally experienced it hence thought it may b the issue......when using Yamalube mineral its same...but on other hand if Motul mineral then shifting is smooth and engine sounds gudOriginally posted by nadz11.ns View PostWhat you mean to say that the clutch return spring might have broken..? the only difference i found between Yamalube mineral and SS is SS is smoother for 1st 300 KM later its same as mineral

Even my bro has a 3 yr old fz, covered just 5.5k and the gear shifts are absolute gem :banghead:Originally posted by chaosaddict View Postdevils_friend nadz11.ns - happens to me too, irritating $h!t. Agree with you. I have very recently changed to Motul 5100 SS. Done 200 kms on it till date. The shifts were super smooth initially. But, now the shifts have gone haywire. I changed the oil immediately after getting it serviced. So, was it the oil or the servicing that helped the smooth shifts :what:Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Posti personally experienced it hence thought it may b the issue......when using Yamalube mineral its same...but on other hand if Motul mineral then shifting is smooth and engine sounds gud

Also, i guess the clutch's play might be the culprit.

Exactly.. For a few days after servicing, shifts are like butter smooth.. But in a dew days, its pathetic..
for the last week or so, its getting more n more irrating.. Those puny 100cc's zoom past and we just try to get the gearing done..
i don't get any sound from the sounds from the rear, but the "thak" sound upon gear changing has increased..and can be heard from a distance also..
i also ride my bro's r15, and the shifting in it is a delight.. But on my fz, is now giving me a hard time..
the svc guys last time just lubed the chain and checked the slackness and said it good to go.. But it wasn't.. They themselves don't know anything..
till 17k kms, i was on yamalube mineral oil.. And after that changed to power1 (for just 400 odd kms) which gave me a real bad experience with the engine.. So reverted to yamalube SS at 18k.. Done nearly 1000kms on it.. SS is way better than mineral in terms of engine sound and acceleration feel, but only for a few hundred kms.. After that, they all are the same.. Hard shifts, high engine noise etc..
will opt for FS next service and see if that helps..Last edited by nadz11.ns; 07-23-2013, 02:28 PM.
