It noticed that there is no feedback from gear on downshift, hence I am not able to do any downshifts, was able to do upshift.

I took it to a local road side mechanic he told me the spring is gone, and he needs 700 bucks to fix it.

I parked my bike in my office and thinking of what to do with it.

    My doubt is,
    1. Whether Spring is really the problem ? or something else ?
    2. If 1 is True , 700 bucks would be the cost ? as he told me he need to open the engine and do it.

    Thanks

I had the same problem a couple of days back.

The spring is for 9 rupees.

    Labour is around 200.

Got it done from the SVC

They will charge extra for engine oil if needed.

    Cheers !!

Its the spring problem, faced same issue with my SZ-R, SVC would be able to do it Rs. 200-250/-, please visit SVC and get it done. The road side mechanic is not giving you correct information.

      Cheers!

        hi Shv18,

my bike's speeds are same as urs......

my concern was if my tyre's pressure was less than prescribed then these speeds would not be achievable right?

its just i think i am developing some kind of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)... related to my bike's rear tyre getting punctured....

coz its been a lot of punctures i had experienced in past.

My guess if the nos. are pretty much higher than mine in terms of rpms required.. the chain is slacking and needs to be adjusted. Otherwise check the rear tire. Since, you are based in Mumbai, why don't you opt for Ride On TPS tire sealant.. you can forget about tire punctures for the life of the tire and also the wheels get auto balanced so one doesn't need to take the bikes wheels for weight balancing ever again.

          Cheers,

              Hi Mate,

I don't know the shop name. Ride On TPS is available at other shops as well but i only know of the shop in South Mumbai. For the benefit of the community i am posting the map location of where exactly you can get it installed from. Look at the map location below and check out the red highlighted area where the tire shop is located.

Pic 1: Map of South Mumbai, Maharashtra.

For information about Ride On TPS: Tire Sealant | Puncture Repair | Flat Tire Repair | Tire Protection Systems for Motorcycle, Automotive, ATV and Heavy Equipment - Ride-On

I have already posted a lot about this on this thread many eons ago. Here is the old post link with video demo of the kit: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...fz-s-1263.html.

Rider abhimanyu31 has used this product on his R15 + now the Ninja 300R and can share you his independent views on the same.

Dosage rating for Yamaha FZ/Fazer with stock tires:

              * Front Tires (Profile: 110/80/17) - Normal dosage is 8 and severe dosage is 9
              * Rear Tires (Profile: 140/60/17) - Normal dosage is 11 and Severe dosage is 13

For motorcycle, severe dosage is recommended. For other riders who are interested in knowing what dosage works on their bikes, usage the dosage calculator mentioned on ride-on's link: Calculator - Ride-On

The dosage is calculated based on the tire profile you have on your bike so make sure to follow that. The cost is roughly 1500-1900 based on the amount of Ride on sealant is used. But calculate it this way, you don't have to do anything for the next 25-30,000 kms till the tire lasts.

              Hope this information helps.

New engines tend to heat-up more.. Happens because the engine parts need to get adjusted to the tolerances between them and this causes excess heat..
don't worry about it.. And btw, how do you know its overheating..? All engines heat up after running..

                  Ride safe and have fun.

the idle rpm keeps on decreasing on itself..
i increase it back and a few days later, its again below 1000
is the screw gone loose or something else..?

Is the link that touches idle screw damaged? If not, do this, set the idle RPM and make a marking on the idle screw and continue riding. Once you notice drop in idle RPM, check for any change in the marking. This will help you know, if someome is disturbing the setting or if there is some other issue.

                        Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Less than 800 the bike will run on lean mixture. Suggest you to do as mentioned, so as to know what the real issue is.

I have gone through previous threads, they just posted their questions on the same, but i did not find any solution given by them.. Please help me, what could be the problem ?? If at all it is related to faulty meter kind off, is it covered under warranty ?? Am planning to take it to SVC tomorrow.. I have done my second service a week ago.. Waiting for your replies.. Some issue with speedo sensor. Get it checked. No issue with speedo unit.
