  • Back on saddle. Battery officially dead. Bought TAFE Speed Boss from Bosch dealer. Bosch completely stopped two wheeler battery. This was VRLA, completely sealed MF Battery. Two-year warranty.

Bought a bottle of Shell Advance AX7 10W40, recommended by fellow FZian. It's semisynthetic and cost only 315 MRP. (FS was around 745)

For the last one month, my bike was rode my brother, my cousin, and 3-4 friends and now it feels like a Pulsar, very rough Only good thing was it returned 56 kmpl in real world condition

            1) What is the Speed recommended for new FZ16 till some Kilometers.
A: The fist service is at 1000km so you will have to control your emotions (40-50)
            2) Which is the best speed/RPM in each gear to get good millage?
A: To get maximum mileage try to shift early i don't mean too early
            between 3 to 4k
            3) Frequency of checking tier pressure and front and rear pressure limit.
A: i am not sure about this some check once in a month i do it every
3days its free in petrol pumps
            4) which petrol is good like "India Oil" , "HP" etc... Currently I am using "India Oil"
            A: Any trustworthy petrol pump

A: A large number of customization accessories are available ffrom Yamaha it depends on your taste
(btw i there is a dispute between the company which makes these accessories and Yamaha for sometime so its hard to find alll accessories in one shop hope they settle fast)

            7) I am from Chennai. Which dealer is best in service. i bought it from RAJ Yamaha OMR.
            A: i don't know as i am from Cochin , kerala

Lube the chain every 500km as recommended
            maintain correct air pressure
clean and wash it regularly as it attracts lot of dirt if the

Hey guys i would like to know how to remove the extended mudguard at the rear ?
I would like to keep the non-extended one, as it enhances the rear section's look !
                    Thanks in advance !

It is not modular, you have to change the whole rear mudguard. I am not sure whether the non-extended one is available nowadays.

I bought my ride on 2009 Oct, which came with the non-extended one and I came to know the extended one is also there, when I enquired at the SVC, they gave me for free. Think that was a must modification made by Yamaha.

If some one is tailing you during rain you will know the difference. I have personal experience while tailing a FZ during rain. I had to change my shirt and proceed to office.
                        Cheers!!!

The extended mudguard at the rear can be removed by removing the reflector bolt
but the mudguard add-on which comes with the new FZ can be removed by
                          removing the whole rear set
I got the extended rear mudguard as it is raining and i got it for free is very
                          useful in rains
both type of mudguards are given for free

Hey all the best mate... don't forget the 1600 km run in period and also check the rear tyre hugger DIY mod using FZ's hugger done by Bluevolt. it cost only 110-150 bucks and will protect the rear monoshock from muck and rusting..

                              cheers

You can remove it by removing the nut holding the reflector and also two screws that are present on wither side of the tail-light section (the plastic part)

But anyone tailing you in the rain or the pillion might end up cursing you
