        cheers

Thanx bro. And ya I already have checked that DIY mod. How about just plucking it off from the FZ and putting it on the Ninja will go for that mod when the semester comes to an end only until then no time to shed for DIY

          • Hey guys...
Need some help. Just wanted to know how to check if there is a play in the fork. The issue is when I push the bike's front wheel with the break on I can feel a vibration in the handle as if there is play & 2 parts hitting each other. It happens only when the suspensions are compressed. It gets worst when I travel on uneven road. Planning to take it to SVC, but before wanted to know. Is it the forks / suspension causing this?

Put your bike on the center stand and hold the bolts that mount the wheel on the the fork and rock it back and forth. There should be no play in it, if there is, the cone set is gone loose or probably kaput

i think its the cone set gone loose
to check it sit on the bike apply the front brakes and push the handlebar down
so that the suspension compresses leave it if you hear a tik sound when doing this then the cone set is gone loose

                  • Last week I did a 400+ Kms ride and my left arm was paining like hell. Then I rode the bike on an open road from 80 KMPH deaccelerating with both hands out and found that it was moving towards the left.

I took the bike to SVC and they acknowledged the issue.....the SVC guy told me that there can a fork issue and needs to be checked. He also mentioned that opening the forks will cost me around 1200 Rs .

I took it to my local mechanic and he too acknowledged the issue and said that it was happening due to some bearings near the front tyre are gone.

My handle has gone damn loose and turns even with a slightest impact. I guess the culprit in my case is also the cone set but I havent heard any sound from the front suspension. Dont understand what's wrong with it. SVC are useless when it comes to identifying the issue.

if there is a small bent in the fork the bike may tend to move to one side
i will get my bike tomorrow after the fork bend corrected and new handlebar tomorrow total 1300rs

handlebar being loose may be the issue with the cone set

if your bike is going towards left you yourself carefully check the left fork
from all angles for bents very slight bent will also result in bike moving away

but for the fork to bent there should be a hard impact on the fork like a fall or something
The fork bent correction will take 3 days at SVC

                        Thanks Jacob & Sunjay,

Yes that is what I did & I could feel the play with my hands on the handle bar. The SVC guy said it's the fork play & he tighten the ring nuts below the handle & now it's ok.

                        • Problem related to petrol in tank

I have got a peculiar problem. My FZ fuel meter shows 1 bar and it was blinking. I thought the fuel tank is nearing empty so went for a full tank petrol. But instead of 11-12 litre (atleast more than 10) I was able to refuel only 9.8 litres of petrol and the tank also was showing full as I could see the petrol at the top of the tank. Then after 1 day after some km of riding the fuel meter is showing now 5 bars not 6.What went wrong, is it the meter that is showing wrong or tank is not full though I can see the full tank with my eyes. Or may be the case the tank had near 2 litres of petrol though the meter was blinking? I am really jeopardized.

the fuel meter in fz is not properly calibrated that is why there is muijudgement of fuel.... even i face the same problem... dont worry...

so when at full tank fill up I filled only 9.8 litres of petrol and the tank had near about 2 litres of petrol already.

yes... the 2 litres also include the reserve..... the bike hits reserve some time after the petrol pump sign starts blinking without any bars in the meter...
