Yeah. The SVC guys told me n they are ready to do it for free! But i'll not be doing it since it may void my warranty. Isn't it?

It won't void your warranty, but it will for sure put a lot of load on your battery.

It must be some dirt on the switch contacts. Spray some WD40 or equivalent into the switch, let it soak for a few minutes and try again. You may need to open the handlebar switch box for this (2 screws only). If this doesn't work, don't bother trying further repairs since the switch can be replaced under warranty.

                • Hi all,

                  I'm a new FZ16 user. I bought a used one recently.

As it turns out, I still have free services available and I would like to know who are the best dealers/service centres in Bengaluru.

                  • I've posted this message on the "Let there be light" universal thread as well but I want to post it here too since it's relevant.

Can someone tell me if the FZ can handle a 55/60W head light bulb without the battery discharging?

I gather that the HS1 bulb can be replaced with a H4 P43 bulb. If a higher power bulb is supported, I want to install a Philips extreme power bulb.

I'm planning a long trip with a fair bit of night riding and this is important to me.

Edit: I realise many would tell me to search the thread. I have and the information I've found is spotty and unclear.

                    • Finally got my fz back from the service center.had to go thrgh a lot of pains to get it done but managed it.The damn mechs dont want to wrk at all...turns out there was a prblm with the converter. It was covered with carbon.NOT just needed cleaning with a cloth but required a brush to get it all out....now no misfiring no acceleration prblms. All you guys who have the acceleration issues should try cleaning it.Also first free servicing done.

A few good points on that:
1.Engine seems smoother even after 65kmph.
                      2.Gear shifting is much better.
3.acceleration seems much better and quicker.
                      4.much better throttle response.

Dont know why but the bike has given a lot a confidence after the service than before.Took it out as soon as i got it back.the zip in it seems almost too good.(Touch wood...)

Have done 800kms and first service is over....had to give in after just 20 days due to the prblm. Can i let it rip???

It almost seems to be beggin me to push it now...cant resist much longer.Already crossed 70kmph today constantly....
sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

To ride or not to ride?? is a....
                      very very stupid question....

I found my answer. Apparently, the battery can handle the load without discharging.

I still have my doubts regarding the 55/60W bulb.....
even i was confused after going through "Let there be light".....

Well....in my opinion you can rip her to some extent but dont over do it constantly as you have still advanced to 800km only........

Take it a little easy(i know its hard to resist) until you reach 1500km on the ODO....
                          Thereafter its only the highway
                          cheers....

                          • URGENT, I am going for my first highway trip for around 500km. What are the conditions to be followed to obtain 60kmpl mileage. Has anyone in this blog obtained. Please answer.
                            Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

The battery can take the load of a 55/60 bulb. Go for it.

If you want more assurance, go to any automobile spares shop (car parts) and buy a regular H4 55/60 bulb. Costs Rs 60-70. Use that for a few days. if happy, buy a costly one.

                              Condition 1: Don't cross 50 KMPH in 5th gear.
Condition 2: Sprain your right wrist so that you cannot give faster twists for acceleration. You'd then accelerate slow and that helps get better mileage.
Condition 3: Make sure your mind understands that you are riding a Luna and that your heart doesn't want to go faster.

Bottom Line: Very Very difficult. Be happy if you get 50 KMPL. Jump with joy if you get anything closer to 55 KMPL.
