blinking of fuel meter can also mean that your bike has low fuel(fuel valve ON)

only one way to read the fuel meter just check how much your bike can run in 1l petrol and set the trip meter according to that

Right, Its starts blinking well before it reaches reserve almost 1-2 liters before reserve.

1st it starts blinking with one Bar, after that it starts blinking with no bars, that is when you will get into reserve.

        .
i think no digital fuel meter is that sensitive..even my bro's RTR160 and friend's P150 show unreliable fuel level..ok,its not fair to compare Bajaj and TVS with Yamaha..but these are the bikes that i have checked with..
        .
i think im clear with what the FZ fuel meter indicates...
petrol machine icon+one petrol bar icon(blinking)in ON-low fuel.
only petrol machine icon(blinking)in ON-going to hit reserve in 5kms.

i just removed it using the screw driver which is there in the tool kit.

i rode my bike for 3-4km and just got it done by the normal stem puncture
get mushroom puncture, stem puncture keeps losing air

          • Major Battery failure....

In my earlier post i had mentioned my bike hiccuping.I had been suggested that might have been due to low fuel. Ok accepted that n filled fuel not just 50-100 but a whole of 500 bucks.Damn thing still refused to accelerate.A speed of 33kmph was the maximum i could achieve.Next morning i started the bike to take to the svc it would not start. tried spinning the wheel technique to start the bike still no power in the bike's acceleration.finally dragged it for 2 kms to the svc where the mechanic says its my battery which is dead n requires a recharge!!!i bought my bike less then 20 days ago.how can this happen? Its has been running fine. He says that the battery with bike is always only 50-60% charge and requires a 11hr charge.Put it in for servicing as month end was nearing. Will keep you guys posted on this. Please post any replies to this that might help.

            • ^^ I think the SVC is bluffing. Why did you not ask them to connect a spare battery and prove it to you?
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

tried dat but da guy was reluctant.Said he didnt have a spare and i too had to leave for office so couldnt perform the check. Will go to pick it up tomo and will check then.

need some help desperately as to what might be the root cause of the prblm if nt a battery failure....

                • On a new bike, I would guess fuel adulteration issues. Else maybe, water in the tank. Is the fuel pipe flowing fuel properly? Check for blockage.

cant be fuel adulteration...dont buy speed or something but always buy petrol from a trusted pump in the city not local petrol pumps. fuel flow was one of the things that did pop into my mind but was too flabbergasted by the mechanic saying its a battery problem to mention it.will try it out tomorrow..thnx for the suggestion...

i think the only reason for your issue is adultrated fuel or water in fuel...cause i had the same issue in my old HH Ambition 135 two years ago..i filled it with half liter of local petrol out of emmergency and later i filled more petrol from standard fuel pump and the next day morning i was half way to college and suddenly bike did'nt accelerate or rev high even when i gave full throttle..the bike started after several kicks but wouldnt accelerate..then i towed it back home with friend's help and i wanted to take it to local mechanic to repair it so i drained some fuel cause mechanics in my place steal petrol from vehicles given for repair to them..after draining some petrol i tried to start the bike again..and to my surprise the bike was fine ..i found the local petrol got settled in bottom of fuel tank and when i drained some fuel this petrol got drained and the bike was back to normal....i think there is no way the battery is responsible for the issue you have with your bike..,

                      • hi guys,

I've read in the manual that this bike should only be filled with unleaded petrol. At my visit once to the SVC the guy told me not to fill it with SPEED just use normal petrol.

I continue to fill my bike with SPEED and have not yet faced any issue (touchwood :P ) so far , but I'm kinda confused?

What does your experience say guys?

well will try but am damn scared if its a petrol prblem cause i always fill it from there only.Have not yet filed it from anywhere else and always fill around Rs 500 worth.my bike is currently lyin in the service center with around that much fuel and no way to turn it on.will see if there is any way to check if fuel is the problem.
