yes u said it right...its because even if u have the right pressure it is bound to get depressed by that much light weightOriginally posted by torino View Postthanks for your reply guys...will give it a try
has anyone of u felt that the low profile rear tire is too wide??..cause whenever i carry a heavier pillion rider(80+kgs), the tyre makes too much road noise (even though the tire pressure is normal)..im not complaining about its handling though..
of u two riders and this means that much more surface area in contact with the road.....
Hence the more audible noise from the tyre especially if the road is a little
rougher than normal....
Well....wat u said is very true....but do you think it would matter for manyOriginally posted by Mindgrinder View Postyeah but colder tire means less traction....as nitrogen takes lot of time to get warm.
of our short city rides.....
i dont think so.....unless you will be bending and leaning at every corner you happen to cross
....
also the tyre takes some time to get warm...

well dunno but i have suffered once in sudden braking bike loses traction, but i will go back to nitrogen again, as rightly filled tires means less puncture.Originally posted by N-o-v-i-c-e View Postyes u said it right...its because even if u have the right pressure it is bound to get depressed by that much light weight

^^^ adulterated fuel can cause such a problem but that won't be very intense.
There can be some problem in the fuel line or a misfire happening. Pls get it checked at the SC.

puncture?
Hi All,
recently observed that the rear Tyre has got a screw nailed in. Strangely enough, there seems to be no drop in air pressure. I believe it is a small one and didn't manage to pierce the rubber. It is one of the star screw type used in electronic devices. Should i remove it?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.-AK

no dont touch da screw....don not remove it....go to the nearest yamaha service center or a local tubeless tyre mechanic....check out http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcycle-ownership-experiences/5370-yamaha-fz-16-a-58.html post from travis31Originally posted by asim.mohd View PostHi All,

Had a very strange experience today guys.. I got a fuel lock installed @ official Yamaha Service today & after 5 minutes in traffic, bike started giving hickups.. I was facing a lot of problems to take off the bike on every signal since the engine was turning off as soon as i left the clutch.. somehow i was managing back to the service centre & I was @ speed of 40kmph & I felt bike is loosing acceleration power no matter how much i twist the throttle. Next I noticed was my engine completely shut off while i was on a feeway with heavy traffic on average speeds. I somehow managed to slow down & pull over @ side. Then I tried all the methods possible to restart the engine but it did'nt. I was damn confused as i was standing in middle of nowhere with my new FZ(jus 100 km old) & engine refusing to start. Then something strike me, & i jus turn off the key & again turned on after few seconds. To my utmost surprise, engine & bike worked as good as never before. No problems yet after that.. Is something serious guys? Should i go back 2 SVC tommrw??
PS: I was having more then 3 litre of fuel in my tank & the fuel lock was definitely on reserve.

@mitz
maybe because of low fuel and you were on reserve, maybe fuel wasn't passing thru properly...happnd to my friends pulsar, was on resevre, bike choked and stopped...jst shook the bike and then it started fine and ran for around 5km!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

HELLO, this is Vineeth, thanks for replying to my earlier posts.
I would like to post that I have now started getting mileage of 49-51kmpl for my fz-16., I drive mostly at 50-55 speed. This is after my first service. At one time, I drove for 65-75speed continously, in the city and I have obtained 44kmpl. So I think that whatever the driving style, a mileage of 40 is assured. ( Or may be I got a good fz unit ). Anyway I am posting some pics of my bike.
So another doubt, is it possible anywhere to get a mileage of 55 plus. I haven't checked in the highway but I feel a mileage of 55-60 would be obtained in the highway, anyway has any one obtained greater than 55Last edited by vinchel; 10-21-2009, 08:19 AM.Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

mine rear tyre also had a small nail but i didn't realized it
after 2 or 3 days i felt some problem in my balancing of my bike
i just checked my rear tyre i found a small nail
i just removed it using the screw driver which is there in the tool kit.
i rode my bike for 3-4km and just got it done by the normal stem punctureADRENALINE PUMPS, SOUL FLY'S, WHEN I AM ON MY 2 WHEELS

so yea... in terms of handling... it doesn't really make a difference on motorbikes... unless ur as fussy n perceptive as rossi.
