I bought my ride on 2009 Oct, which came with the non-extended one and I came to know the extended one is also there, when I enquired at the SVC, they gave me for free. Think that was a must modification made by Yamaha.
If some one is tailing you during rain you will know the difference. I have personal experience while tailing a FZ during rain. I had to change my shirt and proceed to office.

but the mudguard add-on which comes with the new FZ can be removed by
removing the whole rear set
I got the extended rear mudguard as it is raining and i got it for free is very
useful in rains
both type of mudguards are given for freeThanks a lot guys !Originally posted by nand15 View PostYou can remove it by removing the nut holding the reflector and also two screws that are present on wither side of the tail-light section (the plastic part)
But anyone tailing you in the rain or the pillion might end up cursing you
Still deciding on what to do ! :P

keep it clean lube the chain
if you find any rust ask the SVC to spray "rust off"
seniors will be able to tell more on this
and about the mud flying around install the extended rear mudguard
it doesn't look very good just remove it after monsoonLast edited by Sunjay Kumar; 07-09-2011, 10:56 PM.

when the bike's engine is in off state there wont be any lubrication ie splashing of the oil from the oil sump to the partsOriginally posted by aditya.jishnu View Postmy friend says tht going down a slope on neutral spoils the chain or something... is tht so?? and if the bike is off and i press the clutch down a slope does it have any ill effects?
so going down a slope in neutral or with the clutch engaged will damage the parts due to lack of lubrication
"Even the service manual i had read not to tow the vehicle for long distance in neutral"

guys, im new to xbhp but not to biking. this site is awesome
. congratulations to all other yamaha fz owners. i have a query. my bike is about 1k kms old. i want to improve its sound characteristics. i dont want aftermarket exhaust systems. i would prefer performance filters because of their intake roar. the bike remains silent until you rip it. i love that sound on my friends cbz extreme. im ready to fit the k&n rc1060 filter, except, i dont know the proper jet size to upjet to
. some magazines say increase the jet size by 10. ex:if the stock one is 100 upjet it to 110.
has anyone done the proper upjetting. if so, then wats the best jet size and its price

...
if there is already a thread or link for this info, can u pls share it with me
.
my first priority is sound. the performance is just a bonus i feel.
pls help me out guys.Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly

hey guys, reurned from an 800km interstate ride yesterday in the night... The bike was flawless cruising speeds of 95-100kmph is sustainable although the bike felt a bit underpowered on the 4 lane nh7. Running cost came out to be 1.75rs per km. Still a bit tired.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009
Optimus: Red Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD 2013
Atom: Red Tata Nano XTA 2016
Pumba: Red Harley Street 750

Can any on explain the real beam length of high beam and low beam
when i travel at night at speeds of 55kmph i prefer the high beam i dip when other vehicles come from opposite side
but at low speeds i prefer low beam
what i want to know is what is the the approx length where light falls in high and low beam
i want to know how far the stock low beam (dipper) reaches
After my fork bent correction and handlebar change they changed the setting now i prefer high beam more before i dont use high beam too much
