Hey bro, i have not started my bike for the last 3 months due to my North East project. Its been lying idle for all these months as none of my friends were there in Mumbai.

    Finally, one of my friend in mumbai got it checked from a mechanic yesterday;

1)the bat had gone down completely

    2) the carb had bit of muck in it... so the bat has been charged and the carb cleaned. from my experience long term storage with fuel in the tank does indeed clogs up the carburetor!! once i am back in mumbai i will probably have to do a bit of re-tuning of me bike's carb as i am not too sure about the skills of the guy who did the clean up.. will keep you all posted..

now just eagerly awaiting for the FFE project to begin.. BTW any news on your FFE arrival ETA?

    • ^^^ Fuel is not corrosive... if there is rust in the fuel tank, it due to presence of high levels of moisture and possibly due to presence of water... it is water which has a corrosive effect and the problem is further compounded by the near empty fuel tanks that most people keep...

which FFE? i love the stock exhaust's looks. i dont want to change that. also FFEs are loud even when riding slow. filters only get loud at high rpms which is what im after-the intake roar. all I want to know is the proper jet size to upjet to. Will a p180's main jet do??

i dont want to look like a hooligan all the time.

so going down a slope in neutral or with the clutch engaged will damage the parts due to lack of lubrication
"Even the service manual i had read not to tow the vehicle for long distance in neutral"

I asked the mechanic n he says its not a big deal , u can drive in neutral afterall 4 how long will it last sooner or later u ll use the gear n 4 a daily commuter it would not make any difference
exept 4 the fact u l save on a bit of fuel

            Bro,

for more info on the power up kits and FFEs check out :.Welcome To Race Concepts.:. try and get in touch with our expert tuner joel joseph may be he would help in this query. My suggestion is a complete no no on this K&N one...

If you still feel that you just want the poser value 'roar' and are willing to compromise on your bike's FE and long term performance and health, please post your query in this appropriate thread: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...al-thread.html

            cheers

            • Guys, how about using this (given in the pic) which is attached to the leg guard, to avoid mud accumulation into the engine, just waiting for opinions, or should I leave it as it is. Also I want to know what is carnauba wax/formulae 1... because I don't know about it & what about WAXPOL or something like that (cant remember the name properly)

I was about to ask this question.... what ever please answer xbhpians. In this rainy season lots of water, mud, sands accumulate on silencer piper and as well as under the engine area. I am a bit scared that the area may get rust. Is the black quoted area rust proof? Or else a water guard may save the area from water.(looks ugly though).

                    Hi Abhishek,
I used the same one but to protect my pants from mud & water during my travel to office. I've created an opening in the middle so that there is no obstruction to the air flowing to the engine. Regarding mud...it's rainy season whatever you do there will be mud around the engine, cleaning the bike periodically is the safe bet do not forget to lube the chain after every clean.

                    Hi Alto,
The water guard won't help. Just clean it periodically.

But will the black painted silencer pipe and lower portion of the engine not get rust due to too much contact with water ?

holding the button down for a couple of seconds should reset the meter.. if it is not happening contact the svc and get the meter changed...
