      • guys I was in for a shocker ... I had to clean my bike's chain as it had gotten too messy , so when i opened the front sprocket cover ( plastic part ) I found that the clamp holding the sprocket to the drive shaft is missing ... so the sprocket was wobbling like mad ... now the frightening thing is , I don't know when it has fallen off , I changed the sprocket at 10K kms ... and at 12K kms , i did see it there ... now it's 14.8K kms and i do not know when it has fallen off ... now the question is would there be any significant damage ???
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Will if fall off just like that
If the front sprocket was not held by the clamp then it would have been loose and you would have felt while riding i mean any sounds or the way the bike reacts to throttle.
As you know i am not an expert but check the rear sprocket and the chain
if the sprocket has been running misaligned then there will be wear signs on the rear sprocket check for teeth bends
but i also feel that if the chain was tight then there wouldn't have been much damage as the tension in the chain will hold the sprocket in its position

thats why i was shocked , i did not think it could just fall off , but it has ... no visible damage , plus the bike wasn't feeling any different ...

You checked the Oil immediately after riding? You have to wait for about 10 min before checking. You can use kerosene for cleaning or WD40 but make sure wipe it off really well before lubing.
and never have the bike running in gear while lubing or cleaning.

                  Hi Sanjay,
Kerosene or Diesel are the most cheaper & effective chain cleaners due to their properties. Google a bit & you will find it out why. I use Diesel since Kerosene is now a days not freely available. Check the below threads for more on chain cleaning:

Yup.. its a direct fit.. as per the communication with Joel..

Its a nice option for you if you need to upgrade your bike to 180 CC ... it will rock along with joel's custom exhaust..

                          • My pics

                            So, here is my baby...

I think I also have some similar problems reported on this forum (chain slack etc), but the one bothering me very much is that no matter whatever gear I am in, it is very sluggish and does not give me a smooth acceleration. Kinda feeling you get when the petrol is just about to get over and you will have to move to reserve (or if you have forgot to turn the fuel gauge on).

Is this something to do with the carburetor? It is just 1 week old with only 130 KM on it.

                            Any inputs would be awesome....

                            I love the stability though...
