Was it SS 1000 or 1600Originally posted by strider View PostCongratulations Bhushan on the SS 1000
Doing an SS1000 on an air-cooled motorcycle under Indian road conditions is commendable and one to be proud of
Best wishes for the certificate
PS: This deserves a new thread in the Tourer section

Very well narrated man simply superb

Thanks Sir..
so did you finish the documentations for the certificate and the plate
Ya, put the bills and all in order - will post it to the IBA address in another 2 days ..
hey what was the first thing that you did after reaching home
I told my A$$, " good job staying on the seat all the time!"
and, then somehow, removed the Gear I was wearing - and Crashed on Bed that I had prepared before I had left home!
Important tip:
Always prepare your bed -ready-to-crash right when you leave for the ride!

Have started the thread there - after it gets approved - I will delete the post here - and add a link to that section.
Thanks!
In US - they call it SS1000 (where 1000 stands for miles covered)Originally posted by rohan_5013 View PostWas it SS 1000 or 1600
here in India it gets converted to SS1600 ( where 1600 - actually stands for the 1610 km which is to be covered -equivalent to 1000 miles.)
For more clarity/reading you can refer the IBA rules link:

Ok claiming insurance for a 1800 job will b little foolish because you will loose your no claim bonus and i think for the next years premium you will also have to pay 20 % of what you claimed plus the premiumOriginally posted by grandvam View Postlast weekend i went out of station and i parked my vehicle and covered it with the bike cover... unfortunately some stray dogs came and completely ripped off the cover and seat. after enquiry with Panache they said it costs around 18000, pacer motors said it 1800. can i claim insurance for this?? i will post the pic in the evening for reference for the damage.

so better don't go for claim
and just to replace the seats it will take about 6 to 8 days
if there isn't much damage and you want to replace the seats
why don't you go for a good looking seat cover

Manual Foot Pump is about 200 rs. Why don't you fill nitrogen ? If you think you don't feel any proclaimed benefits, you will at least have less visits for top ups.Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostHow much will a electric or foot operated air pump cost
i don't want to fill air from the petrol pump every 3 days
PS: There is a lot of arguement going on between Filling Nitrogen and Normal Air. Personally, I prefer Nitrogen and my visits for re-fill is just about once in 30 days.

I could say the same too -
I had filled N2 in my tires about 20 days before -
and, as per the top speeds achieved ( in the Saddlesore run)
and, the feel - that I am getting - I dont think, I have lost much pressure either.
Will check this week, and update here.
(all the rpm-Vs-speed in all gears look good too!)

I actually planned for a projector but having spent ample time in the projector thread came to know that using projector system as dipper would screw it up. so drooped the idea.
guys correct me, if I understood it wrong.
now thinking of NightBreaker, btw can we get Nightbreaker plus in India ?
Hey Ace, how did the stock light perform during the SS ?

i cannot spend on nitrogen filling because i am loosing pressure more than others but there are no punctures
Guys when filling normal air how long does it last in your tyresOriginally posted by driverace View PostI could say the same too -
