    • Hi,
My FZs is only 2100 km old and its rear tyre already puncher twice. I brought the tyre repairing kit and patch the tyre myself. But I always feel that there is not adequate pressure in the rear tyre, though both the patches are ok and not licking air. There is no bend in the rim also.

I was thinking of putting Ninja IRC tyre (130/70 x 17) in my rear? Which is 10mm narrower then the stock one, do you guys think this will make any problem?

Any one tried this setup before?

      • did my fourth service at around 5800km . The usual oil change and chain maintenance plus a teflon coating. Now the engine and gearshifts are smoother than ever. Never felt this smooth, even on the first few days.

Ninja's stock tyre is not considered good by the owners(hearsay).

I would suggest you to go to a petrol bunk and get the correct pressure(32psi) filled in the rear tyre and then monitor that pressure for a couple of days.

and then we can come to a conclusion that whether your rear tyre is actually lekaing air or not.

besides that 2100km is a very very short interval for changing the tyre. normally tyres can run fine upto 18-22k km depending on the type of usage.

                Teflon:

cost around 500rs for 3 coatings can be done at any service center.
each coating done after a couple of months
                Polish or Wax:

both of them are same. just get a box of carnauba wax (cost varies from 150-320rs depending on the brand) from any of the accessory shop and do it yourself following the instructions. a box can be used for at least 8-9 coats on a bike.

for wax the time period is once or twice evry month.

i dont know how much effective is what.

have been using the wax polish from the past two years and 15k km. the bike is still shiny.

see anything that makes something glow is called a polish like you used to use on your shoes in school and office etc. this thing is something one uses for car and bike bodies.

I am using a brand called Formula 1 it cost me 320rs for a box. you also get the applicator when you buy the box inside it itself. you can find it in any car accessory shop.

as i said before interval for wax polish is normally once or twice per month depending on the condition of the bike.

just control you emotions for a 1000km and after that let them go wild (off course if permitted by traffic and road condition)

                          • my friend and me planned to buy/make a engine scoop for preventing mud and sand from getting caught in middle of those segmented engine walls.

is a engine scoop advised ? since it is a air-cooled one.
