Looks like the chain slackness has increased. Tighten it and you will surely notice significant change in it.

    Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Has anybody used the Daytona chain kit? I asked for the price of the same and it costs whopping 8700 bucks

        Is it worth the money?

I am looking to convert my fzs headlight into fz16s , Can I keep the headlight as it is and change the headlight housing alone or should I buy a new FZ16 headlight kit ?

at that cost you would get 4-5 sets of stock chain n sprocket..
enough for next 1 lac+ kms

Fazer has fairings and FZ does not have. To fit the FZ headlamps, you need to get rid of the fairings. The extra money that you have paid is for the fairings. Why do you want to put FZ lamp?

I don't think it is a wise idea.

Yea, agree to this. But, 8700 for the set is a bomb.

when the daytona parts were launched.. They together costed more than the bike itself..
its the cost of the brand. Nothing else..

The chain slackness is well under a inch.. So that's not the cause for the delay in the response of the throttle..

I think you misunderstood , I own a FZS not the fazer. The reason for this visual mod is that I am bored of the look of the so just want to play around it. I have seen few FZS without the visor but didnt like the look. So thinking getting the exact fz16 headligh setup without much cost involved.

Check for tyre pressure. Also, if the chain is too tight, there will be power loss and the chain will wear out quickly. The slack should be in between 30-40mm.

Hope the idle RPM is in between 1200-1500 rpm.

                    Cheerz!!

                    My bad. I read fazer.

You can remove the visor and your FZ-S will be converted into FZ. Go back pages on this forum and you will find someone with the same mod.

well the parameters you mentioned have all been looked into and they are right in the recommended zone..
i think the problem might be the engine not getting enough juice in those high speeds..

                        Hi All,

I have bought a yamaha FZ S a year back by now i have done all my servicing provided by yamaha . A few days back my bike did not get started when i called the yamaha people they checked it and told me that there was lots of dust in spark plug area due to fault in petrol. So i decided to change the petrol.
Now i have kept Shell petrol and will be continuing that . The total no of kms i covered is 7000kms till now

Now i wanted to know twoi things

1.Is it the right time to change the engine oil to semi synthetic oil or full synthetic oil??

2.If It is fine please advice which one would be best???

                        Please advice

well it depends on your riding style..
yes, you can now change to synthetic oils..
if you are mostly a city rider with normal kinda riding style with not many high stint of high revs.. go for semi Synthetic oil..
and if you like red-lining the rpm's.. then go for full-synthetic..
you can try Motul.. its mostly used by riders here..
you can try Motul 5100 Semi-Synthetic or Motul 7100 Full-Synthetic

                          Ride safe and have fun.

Check for the spark plug condition.

Also, after 95kph, Mr. FZ does struggle to go past 100kph mark.

Go for Semi oil. As mentioned in the above post, if you are a red lining rider, FS is good. The best bet is to use SS oil and then switch to FS oil (if you really want to).

Got my bike serviced yesterday. Since the braking is not upto the mark, told them to check it.

The rear brake pad seemed fine to me. The only thing was, brake shoe was smooth . SVC guy was like, i will rub sand paper over it and the smoothness will go. No squeaking sound from the brake pad. But, it surely looses its bite after riding some kms. The shoe seemed fine to me. My bad, i forgot to take a pic.

For the front brake, just by looking he said its fine.

When is the right time to change the pads? Closing in almost 10k now. Will the smooth brake pads cause any issue in near future?
