BTW what was your average speed during journey....was it mostly below 100 or above it or just that....
Did the engine show any signs of stress at anytime????? if so, when?

Now I have a real problem..there was 10w40 agip FS oil in the bike..which had reached below minimum level mark..so I,thinking that this was the same grade..used it to top up
the oil,that too twice..it has lasted nearly 4k kms..I hope my bike's engine is fine..
Now there is almost 200ml in the bottle(as there are 5 "layers" on the bottles design,the oil nearly fills one of them)
Should I buy another 1L of 20w50 and change the oil??
Assuming you did this for the first time it wont get damaged....
Both are Agip synthetics....so the 20w50 will get a little diluted by the 10w40....
Although mixing differnt grades is not recommended, it would have been a problem if you mixed two different brands of oil....
But what is worrying is that from your post we could see the engine oil level decreasing fast.....
even nand15 had reported the same using the same Agip oil....

Hello fellow bikers,
I bought my FZ-S in September 2010.....Its ride was very smooth in the beginning but as time passed by it became rough....n now after my 6th and final free service, the ride has become very rough and the engine gets a lot of hiccups during the ride(especially when I shift from the 2nd to 3rd gear)....I told this to the SVC guys but according to them the bike is fine.....
What might be the problem?

I would also say that the drop in oil was about 150ml and is due to my ignorance of the fact that when the filter is changed 1.2L and not 1L is to be added . rectified it this time

I went to orion bangalore to buy the 20w50 agip and they were out of stock..I have been running this mixture of oils for the past 4.5k kms...still brownish,no dip in level but I want to replace it fast!!
Guys in Bangalore do you know of any other dealers of agip oils?

And 300v is good....m on the third bottle now....
But will change it next month to shell advance as winter starts....
it gets really cold here and then you immediately realise the w50 in your engine...

You can change it anytime...its gonna be okay..
and there are other options like motul and shell IF you dont find agip...

here the lowest it can get to is about 13 degs , so would I feel the w50 ? as I have no plans to change the oil till about 20K kms ... I'm currently at 16.4K kms .

I had same problem few days ago but with the service my local mechanic took care of it. Didn't notice what he did on the bike. Only thing I can suggest is go to get your bike checked with an expert rather than believing the svc people coz they always ask to do replacement rather than giving solutions.Originally posted by stunbun View PostHello fellow bikers,

i averaged around 55kmph for the entire journey.
besides that the speeds were in the range of 70-80kmph due to not good road conditions and traffic all along.

Yup completely agree wid ya....wen i had done ma Mumbai - Blore run i was doing same speed n got pretty much the same avg speed.....the bike though always felt relentless.
feel like doing it again now

Am shifting to a flat with no parking facilities, how safe is the FZ lock or any suggestive measures like the lock at the front tyre and fork?!?!
2ndly, I got a problem recently my bike loses battery charge when parked for an hour or more, checked the battery it was showing 13.3 volts... mostly i have to start on 2nd gear... In the morning, even the meter wont light.. any help on the issue?I'd rather be fast than invisible!!!!!

check the battery water level and clean the contact of the connectors
i dont have much idea about the fork lock
