  • Painful experience

My Fazer ownership experience has been marred by too many issues, but the love still continues. The latest experience has a bit of warning for Pune Yamaha bike owners.
So I had vibration issues and the Yamaha Factory shop in wakdewadi was not able to solve it. So I headed to MP motors wakdewadi and they mentioned an issue with valve clearance. They pocketed the money but fixed the issue. Me super happy.
500km later I had my service due, I got my chain sprocket set replaced as the chain was partially strained at places. I never liked the fitting of the new one, had issues from day one. 500 km after the service we realized that my bike could not digest full synthetic oil (Motul 300 V 15w50 ), oild changed back to Yamalube SS 15w50. Still viby engine. Was back there after another 500km. left the bike at 800 km after the service for two days and what I got back was a pathetically viby and shaky ride.
During this time I got a call from Yamaha factory shop as I had a pending complaint at the back office two months ago. I had realized that this time it was the chain that was causing the racket, around 1300 km old. Asked these guys to change over to a 14T front Yamaha , 40T rear Daytona with a Daytona chain. There we checked and realized that the sprocket set given by MP motors was a fake one. The reason that a 1300 km old chain sprocket kit failed. The sprocket teeth were of course damaged. The whole point is that a authorized SVC has been blissfully smuggling fake parts to users. Whats more I discussed this with the manager at the factory shop and he showed me multiple evidence that they had collected over time against MP motors but these guys always get to fox the squad.

All I can ask is Pune guys kindly be aware of this. The mechs at MP motors are very good but please refrain from buying spares from them.

That is indeed shocking and really a sad experience for you. One can always call the helpline and figure out the genuine yamaha parts sellers. I have a doubt too that the engine oil may be fake/ repackaged oil coz surprisingly my bike is working like butter on the FS oil. So would recommend that you should get in touch with the guys from Motul and ask for a genuine Motul seller for the same.

Atleast in Mumbai, i am pretty happy with the prompt service from Kamla Yamaha, lower Parel. Just one thing that the owners should reach there at early if they want to leave with their bike early from the workshop. All the parts sold over the counter are genuine there.

        Cheers

This is the story with many svc.. If we take a bill for each and every thing we buy from the svc this may ne minimised.. These guys get stocks that are accountable to every detail but they sell it off to other users/ after market shops.. I even read a post from punjab somewhere that a whole set of rear brakes and alloys were replaced with a dead rear disc and bent alloy of an R15.. Be very careful while getting the spares.. Keep checking what they are changing and always insist on a bill.. No bill-You never bought it!
O i forgot.. I bought an oil filter without bill.. Someone somewhere is driving without an oil filter change! Even though he paid for it.. The same svc didnt change my oil filter in my first service.. The Svc in discussion here is Pearl Yamaha, Hyderabad.

                • Can anyone suggest a good place in Thane to put slime in the tyres?

I am planning to put it in the rear tyre of my bike. How much time will it take and what will be the price?

Tip: Don't buy any car/bike related stuff from Big B. There is a fresh bottle of Scratchout lying somewhere in bushes bought from there 1000% fake.

                        • Wax polish

Since there was a chatter of wax polish going on i thought of giving my small input.

I have been using a Wax polish called Roberts Liquid Polish for 2 years and it gives me the same shine n protection as Formula Wax polish at fraction of the cost.

100ml of Bottle cost Rs 40

My bike is washed just 3 - 4 times a month so a single bottle lasts me for over 6 months at times.

Its a complete Bang for the money i can assure.

                          • Never polished myself. But I'd like to start. Any tips or pointers?

motul mineral costs the same as yamalube around 230-250... check for a motul dealer in your city's two wheelerspare part market....
