I cant comment with regard to the bikes you've mentioned, but with this kinda crazy acceleration you can sure as hell take on kick a ZMA's and R15's ass.Originally posted by rylan View PostMotorcycling Experience:

i think there is a typo in shvs post.Originally posted by santosh_vjit View Post
Engine oil in nex servicing will go for Motul 300v factory line 4T Semi Synthetic oil Single ester 15W 50
These are the ss and fs grades from motul.
Motul 5100 15w50 ss.. Costs more than 450.
Motul 7100 20w50 fs.. Single ester fs oil costs more than 750.
Motul 300v 10w40 or 15w50.. Double ester, costs more than 950.
If you have clutch problem, try checking your top speed.. If it is straining a lot at around 90 or below, its a worn out clutch. You will face reduced accelerations too. If you are not getting it replaced, continue mineral oil. Fs and ss oils will further escalate the problems in a clutch.Last edited by muztariq; 06-12-2012, 10:58 PM.

that is the Throttle Position Sensor, or TPS for short.Originally posted by rylan View PostNa, it ain't the clutch plates. If you take a closer look at the stock carb. It has a connector and when connected completes the circuit with the engine check that occurs once u turn the engine switch. In the carb that I've installed, there isn't any provision for that making the light glow constantly.

I've got the same problem since my carb doesn't have a TPS.
The mechanic should have just sucked the old fluid from the caliper bleed nipple, topping up with the new fluid as the level started to drop. That way there is no chance of air getting into the lines. If you are worried about it, take it back to him and ask him to do that or you can do it yourself.Originally posted by BAMBI143 View PostI have a quetion. At arround 15 days earlier I thought of switching to DOT4 brake fluid for my FZ (don't know what is the default grade provided) so I went out and bought a tvs girling DOT4 bottle. Now the mechanic who is pretty experienced and till now whatever problem I faced with my bike he solved flawlessly he took out the brake fluid from the cylinder with an injection syringe and wiped the cylinder clean and poured in the DOT4 I told him that he is supposed to bleed and then fill he answered there is no problem. So I took the bike and till now it has done 300 km(after DOT4 replacement) and no issues faced rather braking improved to an extent.I'm worried if the unreplaced fluid in brake lines will cause any problem or not. Please suggest what to do?..should I tell him to bleed or remain as its is..
Usually the brake fluids from different brands/DOT are different colors.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

It is pretty simple, check the manual provided along with your FZ.. it has everything mentioned regarding chain tension and how it is done. If the setting has reached to its last position and the chain is slacking too much then you will have to get the chain and sprockets replaced. One good way to identify chain slackness is that the rpm required to reach a certain speed increases quite a lot compared to when the chain slackness is correct.Originally posted by santosh_vjit View PostThanks a lot for ur reply ....
when you ride her hard and leave the clutch the engine takes bit time to respond before achieving acceleration again??
i have experienced this prob..so i think itz time to replace ma clutch plates..
Chain i think it is fine....air filter i changed it around 10k kms..
Engine oil in nex servicing will go for Motul 300v factory line 4T Semi Synthetic oil Single ester 15W 50
my bike lost the pick up and it is too much noisy do u feel it is due to chain...checked for loose screws didn't find any..
as im beginner plz tolerate i may not be clear in ma explanation
Thanks again.
Thanks for correcting me with the pricing... anyways i would say replace the clutch plates and then go ahead with your choice of oil.Originally posted by muztariq View Posti think there is a typo in shvs post.

I'm glad one of us doesn't see it as a problem. I on the otherhand wish there was a carb with TPS on it.Originally posted by rylan View PostIt ain't a problem. The feature is absent in our respective carbs.

The CDI can't advance the spark due to there not being any throttle % opening input data, So the CDI just runs default/limp mode. A comprimise if u will.
This means our engines are not running to the full potential
I'm still waiting for the single plug CDI from BRT to be released. Hopefully that can help smooth out my ride.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

I too need one badly. Also, a simple tutorial illustrating the TPS install would be v much appreciated
Thanks !-AK

I'm unable to install a TPS on my current carb (unless I get creative and start machining gears, cam, levers, actuators etc) as there is no place to put it.Originally posted by asim.mohd View PostHi Mik, Please do keep us posted when you get it.

However a word of caution for those who want to remove their TPS sensor from the carb (or even throttle body on a car)
GET A WHITE PAINT PEN (even bright colored nailpolish) AND PUT SOME DOTS OR MARKS ON IT TO ALIGN IT BACK UP TO THE CARB/TB OR EVEN SCRATCH/SCORE THE 2 SURFACES AGAINST EACH OTHER.
Otherwise you will be chasing your tail trying to make minute adjustments so the voltage output matches with the 100% throttle opening, 0% opening, etc.
It can be a real PITB if you stuff it up.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

Joel has already taken care of the throttle position sensor issue with his semi flat carbs so Rylan need not worry.Originally posted by Mad Mik View PostI'm unable to install a TPS on my current carb (unless I get creative and start machining gears, cam, levers, actuators etc) as there is no place to put it.

. I really have no clue as to what a tps really does or what percentage the cdi needs, to work optimally. What I know is the carb which has been installed takes care of it all.

The fastest fz built by Race Concepts
Arguably the fastest fz built.
Stats:
0 to 60 in 3 seconds
0 to 100 in 9 seconds
Top whack of 135 km/h
It hits the limit pretty darn fast and is right there with no loss in performance whatsover. i have no more words. Phew!!!
Ps: A complete update on the latest mods will be up soon in my thread, busy riding my rocket

That's quite quick... 135 in such a short span is unheard of in stock FZ territory. I would love to see how much speed jump you witness post 15T front sprocket mod.
With Joel's custom CDI, the nos. should come down even further to hit 100Kays.
just one query.. you still have stock valves or Joel's custom inlet and exhaust ones??
