+1. Shouldn't be used even if same grade.

Car oils are suitable for dry clutch (employed in cars) while motorcycles have wet clutch so it is necessary to use dedicated Motorcycle engine oils. There are other factors as well, like API (American Petroleum Institute) standards. For more info check here or else Google.

        • Color temp 4300K, 35W. Never faced any issues with the HID/Projector. Check if they have 55W one, it is little yellowish in color.

fortunately i have experience of using the synthetic oil you are talking about in my car. Its total quartz 9000 energy and is available as a 5w40 grade. The oil performs exceptionally well but the problem is that it contains lot of friction reducers and also the detergent levels are very high as it is a common oil for petrol and the highly dirty diesel cars. No car engine oil above API SG should be used in wet clutch bikes. Yes inferior grades can be used as they do not contain friction reducers. It was only after api sg that friction reducers were incorporated.
As you have used this oil for such a long duration (5000 kms) on a wet clutch bike, Your bike's clutch plates would have gone by now. The roughness you are experiencing is not related to oil but to the clutch plates. Your bike must be taking higher rpms to attain the same speed. You can cross check with the rpms of another bike. Best thing to do is, change the oil to a jaso ma or ma2 grade, with this i would suggest you to go for yamalube 'mineral'. Dont use ss or fs oils as your already dead clutch would be in no position to swallow that friction reduction.
Hope this will reduce your problem greatly.. If it doesnt - replace your clutch plates.

Thank you Nand and deville. I was trying to do it the wrong way round: quote first and add after...which does not work!

Ok..but shipment is good, nothing was damaged. Also you can check with Navnish if you intend to purchase only the HID with projector. I didn't want to spoil the stock headlight so I bought the entire assly.

Would you please mind clarifying this sort of "double setup": two light all the time OR one for each use...???
as you know the stock setup of the fazer is 1 light for high beam and 1 for the low beam. in that pic, those are the bubs if you connect both bulb's high side connector with a wire, 'in low beam'-both headlamps will glow together and 'in high beam'-only one(like stock). and if you connect the right side connectors with a wire(with high side connection still there) both headlights will glow in low and high beam.
^^ looks like i messed up with the explanation

they will do the PDI to check for problems but check for any scratches on the body, check if the indicators and headlight work, check for all the nuts and bolts(one side stand bolt was missing in my case) before leaving the showroom

                              OK, got it
....but what you did not know is that the "export" model already has both lights on whether in high or low beam!

The setup I am interested in, then, and which is sort of "independent" from the wiring is to have two HID that will give (simultaneously) high OR low beam, PLUS two smaller long range projectors with their dedicated control. These could be used (for a limited time since the alternator will not be able to compensate that demand and battery soon run flat) with high OR low beam, or even on their own if one wishes to.

That will then be somehow similar to the setup I have on another bike, and that is fully satisfying when on the road, able to give (for a short period= about 10/ 15 minutes uninterrupted as a maximum) a hell of a splash of light on the road!

The whole present reflector would have to be modified.

Has anybody ever attempted such a setup? How did it work? Which projectors had been used? Wasn't it too hot? etc...etc...?

Hey, Christo: isn't your bike a Fazer Midnight Special like mine???
