i own a black fz.but i like the green one more which is not in production.
or i wanna go for the red colour.can anyone tell how much will be the estimated cost and how will the yamaha servive centre charge for this?
and can this be done within the warranty period of the bike?

Green panels available at spares. 230 per scoop. Around 300 for middle panel. No affect on warranty.

              1. Put in center stand.
              2. Warm up a minute.
              3. Remove the dip stick a minute after switching off the engine.
              4. Wipe the oil in dip stick with a cloth.
              5. Just put back the dip stick, dont tighten it.
              6. See the level marked at the dip stick end.
              Done

Use pliers. Put a cloth in between to prevent scratches.

                        • Hey guys , Approaching the 11th service of my bike , 2 years 8 months , 21500 kms and it's been running beautifully , with a few minor hiccups along the way . Was planning to sell it off earlier this month for the R15 V2 but decided against it and hold on. ( atleast till I can go for a bigger bike [read 600's] )

Things that need taking care of ,

                          1) Tyre ( Stock revz ) - Cost somewhere between 2.8 - 3.2k - current status of tyre is abysmal , one side completely bald , 3 leaking punctures ... punctures cannot be fixed as they are old fixed punctures that are leaking again . Front one needs to be cleaned and re-fit ... that is leaking air due to dirt accumulation.

                          2) Battery ( Stock ) - this one still has some juice left , but has embarassed me at traffic light stops on a couple of occasions .

                          3) Chain and sprockets - this needs changing now ! can pull the chain a few mm over the rear sprocket . really loose after repeated tightening :P was gone at the last service itself but stretched it for another 3K kms .

Apart from these 3 things , the usual stuff like oil ,filter and the works . Pretty happy with motul 15w50 thus far , has lasted 5K kms ... Engine started grumbling now , so gotta replace that too ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

FZ16 headlight assembly with projector and angel eye for sale .

From your description it appears that the chain is just loose.. Usually chain sets lasts for 40 to 50 k.. I strongly believe that by removing two three links in the chain will solve your purpose.
I was asked to replace the chain set of my old splendour for the same reason at 25k.. It went on till 50 k.. And then also the reason of replacement was just noisey drag from the sprokets.. Just see if there is a possibilty of removing one or two links in between the chain.

thats done quite easily.. There is a 'u' shaped insert in one of the links of the chain.. Remove it, chain will open up.. Remove one or whatever links you want to remove like the strap of the watch.. Replace the 'u' shaped pin and thats it..
Its absolutely safe.. But get it done from a mechanic. There is some effort involved, I cant do it myself even tho I know..
I just have to see whether this chain has the u clip!! I think thats there in every chain :-)
