if you see a drop in air pressure in 1-2 days get it checked otherwise leave it.... i dont think that your tyre will go bust during travelling....

      • Guys , I think I spoke too soon about my bike working absolutely fine ... suddenly out of the blue a few problems have cropped up ...

        1) the self start doesn't seem to respond , no crank at all , had to push start it the first time and then after about 15 mins of riding it works ....

        2) tyre pressure - losing about 12psi (front) and 10psi (rear) in three days ... had it checked for puncture , no puncture on the tyres ...

3)lastly the darn fuel gauge : the first bar blinks like when it is low on fuel but the next two bars are solid ... i.e only the fuel pump symbol n first bar blink and other two bars right after it stay solid ... there is about 5ltrs of fuel in the tank .

am not doing anything to this as my final free service is due in a week and i'm not goin to do any riding , but can anybody please help me with the possible reasons for the 1st two problems ....
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Looks like problem in the battery, The screw joining battery wire might have rust deposit(This happened to me once) due to this battery might not be charging.

Get the punture checked again with 45psi.

but if the battery was dead lights shouldn't function right , lights and the horn all functioned properly ...will take a look at the battery anyway .... i had the puncture checked at 40psi ... no puncture , still continously losing 10psi in both tyres in a span of three or four days ... i'm thinking if there might be a bent rim or something ...

no the lights and horn take up very little power as compared to the electric starter.... get it recharged again and then check..... else there can be one more problem, my dio used to behave like this before, the starter wont crank up but all the other electricals used to work fine i got my battery replaced and recharged still the problem remained later on the service guy told me that there was a cut in one of the wires and it was getting earthed so the starter was not getting enough power. tell the svc guy to check all the wiring as well....

hmmm ... but mine works fine after a bit , today i fired it up and it worked like there was no problem at all , erratic behaviour ...

i'm really more worried about the tyre pressure drop , 10 psi on both tyres in 3 days , re-fill and again it drops ... this one has got me racking my brains wondering what's wrong

                  1. your battery must have run low.. as someone said lights take less battery than starter. if the battery drained over night then get the wiring and battery checked at service ! since the starter worked after 15mins the problem is obviously with the battery.

                  2. dude check with different petrol bunks. most petrol bunks have faulty air meters. its normal for a 3-5psi drop in 5days. probably the meter with which you checked shows 5 as 10psi. if not that then check your entire wheel for bends or a faulty valve. go to a proper tyre shop and they will do it for you.

                  3. your console is screwed. get it changed. did it rain? or you washed your bike? anyway no problem just get it changed.
                  Regardless, Life shall go on.

                  • I went to the SVC today to get the bike's fuel gauge checked... now it is running perfectly. I was told that a lot of carbon had built up on it. Is there any reason this could've happened?

Plus I saw a spanking new Fazer in bright lime green... same shade as Honda CB Twister. It looked awesome. I shall put a pic up later

1> Next time try starting the bike with your clutch pressed if it starts then its the problem with your gear lever[sometimes it happens to me]

2> you definetly have a leak try another shop or for a better solution try the liquid seleant that avoids puncture.
3>hmm faulty lcd or fuel guage,

                      • Hey guys !! I'm 16 and I'm a newbie in riding bikes.
I just bought a FZ-16. This is the first time I'm riding a geared vehicle. I don't have much control over the clutch and gears, so I'm afraid that I may damage my engine as it is new.

Please give me some BASIC tips on riding[changing gears and braking] and maintaining the bike. The manual doesn't say much.

                        Please help me.Thanks.

Hey nand. Did you try the method of filling high air pressure and then pouring water over the tyre surface and observing for bubbles? That is the best way to find out. Oh dont forget rubbing a wet finger over the nozzle too. that could also be faulty.

How did you even get a license?? Why did you even buy a bike when you didnt know how to ride. I'm sorry if I sound rude, but its just something i (or for that matter anyone else I know) wouldnt do.
