Headlight
hi guys.. i want to know how to remove the headlight visor (front glass) from the rest of the assembly ??
My headlight assembled on the bike currently has a broken front glass & I have a spare headlight assembly whose front visor is ok but rest of the body is badly damaged..
So I just wish to change the visor .. I tried but it is tightly glued with rest of the body. Is there any way to remove the glass visor intact without the use of blow gun?? I tried with few local mechanics but none is ready to do the work.

you can put the entire assembly in the oven for a few minutes and the whole assembly will come out.... you may have to keep some point in considerations....
1. have oven mitts on.
2. try not to melt the plastic of the reflector by overheating...
3. remember you just need to melt the glue a little bit...Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Thanks, will get it doneOriginally posted by kinshuk.arya View Posthi u dont have to do anything like opening up or anything just go to the svc tell them about the indicator malfunctioning they will spray it with wt40 to clean it up without opening and it will be as good as new...
Before going for anything permanent, why don't you try adjusting the angle of the throw of the light. My high beam reaches the top branches of a tree standing 10 mtrs away, so I was going to get it done too. Some ppl here have already had it done and are much more satisfied with the illumination. Just give it a go (it aint much work, just a screw needs to be turned.. no opening required, SVC guy will do it in under a minute prolly) and if you are still not happy with it, ppl here say that the OSRAM Night breaker of the same rating as the stock light is a good fit and is generally better without looking very illegal. Other owners - correct me if I am wrong plz.Originally posted by ankit63 View PostGuys... have anyone of you have installed HID in your steeds? The headlamp of FZ is not very effective for highway driving. Could any one of you please share the experience.Does it drain too much battery too?
P.S. : The xBhp sticker on ur bike's tank looks gr8 .. gels well with the tank colourLast edited by s_and_m; 07-13-2010, 12:14 AM.

yes very much , like mentioned , just a size 10 spanner ... below the headlight , on the assy itself is a the bolt that adjusts the beam , loosen it , turn on the light , focus the beam as per your requirement , tighten it and your done ...Originally posted by s_and_m View PostDo we have the required tool in the toolkit provided by Yamaha?
P.S: Guys if u remember i had posted about having an air leakage problem on both my tyres , now I had been to the SVC , told them about it , I made the chief mech there check for puncture , valves and also the rim and he found no leakage , but i'm still having the problem , three days it drops from 28psi to 6 or 7 psi (front) and from 33 to about 14psi (rear)
, really getting annoyed now
here's the pic of the boltLast edited by nand15; 07-14-2010, 12:28 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com
