Dude, I don't think that Semi Synthetic engine oil will cause any harm to a engine.....i have been using it since my first service and done around 15.5K Kms till date on the same type and never faced any engine problems.

also on the other hand it could be your air filter its like your lungs.. when you work hard you need to breathe more... SO make sure you dont keep/store any bags or books under your seat and if youve been in very dusty terrains clean the filter because when more power is required the airfilter needs more air so make sure there is no blockage....!!!

But I felt the FZ fuel caps are much better. This shouldnt happen. And yous say only during 6k -7k rpm. But as I write this air filter getting dirty during monsoons is kind of unlikely. Give it a shot nonetheless.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys.. I really appreciate it & feel a bit ashamed to reply since I made it look like a very serious issue while it was just a minor stupidity at my end.. Nevertheless, as few of u guys suggested the problem was indeed the air filter opening which was accidentally blocked by a piece of my polishing cloth. So all fine now & yes I did clean the air filter too so my FZ is back to life.

PS: I was very worried on this issue on saturday since I had a 350-400 km ride on highways yesterday but thanks to u guys & a frnd of mine who helped me rectify the issue promptly. However just wanted to ask u guys, My engine oil was 1300 kms old & I enquired the Ymaha SCV guys if i need to change it before my coming ride of 400 kms but they denied so I went ahead with same engine oil & noticed the obvoius engine harshness/heating up/hard gear shifts etc but surprisingly did not expect fall in top speed i.e 105kmph max with a pillion & previously I'v done above 115 kmps speedo reading many times with pillion. So does oil really affect the top speed??

Saddle Bags

Guys, Can anyone share action pics/stories on Cramster saddle bags for the FZ-16. Their site has a disclaimer on how its not suitable for FZ-16.

On email exchanges with Cramster they say that the bags can potentially hit the tyres while riding. My desi brain is looking for a possible 'jugaad' to work around this.

Any other saddle bag suggestion would be great too.

SS or FS oil does not harm your engine...but it isnt recommended to be used until your engine has run around 1k-1.5k kms...at least till your first service...and this is the case here.

Chillax dude. No harm done. Happens to all of us. I've done so many stupid things that would probably result in me getting banned from x-bhp

Srry to drop in the FZ thread for a visit but i read all of the ownership threads from P220 DTSI to ZMR etc. I have a different type of those LED's that put out the same amount of lights and yes, they cost me $500. I think they are worth it as i have them installed in my Karizma ZMA R

Guys here have used the Honda Shine Iridium plug as it is a direct fit. Found the part number on their web-site. It is CPR7EAIX-9.

500 Ruppees or 500 US Dollars??? 500 Dollars is like 1/3rd the bike cost.

usually it depends on the way of riding... but yeah people here are getting anywhere between 30-45kmpll....
