17K is not bad, when i asked SVC they told the company claims 15K for the open chain... if its in bad condition replace it full(front & rear sprockets, chain)... i had given it for replacement today... don't know the availability of it in pune, here's it is available now(kerala).Originally posted by ankit63 View PostNear about 17K...... Done that twice... been following up the SVC from last 15 days...
Nevertheless , anyways tell me which chain lube do you guys use... the MOTUL one that comes for somewhere 400INR or the Yamahalube one that is around 1300 INR.
I am planning to get one.The Yamahalube one contains a chain cleaner and a Chain lube whereas the Motul ones just lube.
Moreover the Yamahalube one is white and more greasy and sticks on the chain f or a longer period.
No its not available here.I had enquired the Factory Showroom and SVC. I am planning to tweak the sprockets a little now.The front sprocket is 13 teeth...Planning to increase it to 14 teeth. This will increase performance by 14%.Increase the top speed....one of my friend does this customization.Would the warranty void because of this ?Originally posted by Binoy View Post17K is not bad, when i asked SVC they told the company claims 15K for the open chain... if its in bad condition replace it full(front & rear sprockets, chain)... i had given it for replacement today... don't know the availability of it in pune, here's it is available now(kerala).Last edited by RoadZilla; 07-20-2010, 01:23 PM.The Fast and the Curious kind!!!

you can get motul chain clean and lube for 900rs ... haven't tried yamalube so can't comment on it ... I use plain old kerosene to clean the chain and only the lube is motul ... i heard kerosene has the least damaging effect on the o-rings ...
well if yamalube is more greasy then it will attract more dirt which would then mean more cleaning required , the best one is dry-lube , but thats insanely expensive at 1.3 or 1.4k per bottle ...Last edited by nand15; 07-20-2010, 01:29 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Abey! Read carefully, I responded to what you said.Originally posted by ankit63 View PostThat day at the SVC you were suggesting me Yamahalube and now you suggesting Motul......

Satyen!!!

Motul has BOTH chain lube and chain clean as two different products
Yamahalube is BETTER but is NOT for cleaning, but for LUBING!

ya motul is the best chain clean and lube available... but guys cleaning the chain using kerosine/shampoo is more than enough and applying SAE 140 gear oil from penzoil/MAK is also good and VFM... i have been using it since i bought my bike and i got chain life of 27K+Originally posted by nand15 View Postyou can get motul chain clean and lube for 900rs ... haven't tried yamalube so can't comment on it ... yup the front sprocket is 14 teeth .... I spent about 450rs on the lube as I didn't know about SAE140 gear oil at the time , but motul has lasted me more than a year , I clean and lube at 500km interval , so i think it's okayOriginally posted by Binoy View PostDoes yamalube has a chain clean and lube??? the info is new to me.
