  • ^^ Did you know a mercedes logo costs 17k !!! ... to change , so people steal it from other cars and sell it for cheaper . who doesn't like a bargain these days ???

Anyway ... coming to the FZ logo , this problem was common on the pulsars for a long time , because you could get cash for the logo , 300 bucks for the entire set ... I've got it myself ... got rid of my bike's only ... changed in the SVC for free during service ... so you see ... maybe this is happening incase of our FZ's too ... haven't been around the area to check .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

FZ16 headlight assembly with projector and angel eye for sale .

Just call up all the yamaha SVCs in Bangalore. I'd try Perfect Riders in JC road first. I've seen their stocks being updated quite regularly (atleast this was true whenever I went them). Pacer must be the worst when it comes to spares. Dude there didnt want me to change my oil filter. He just wouldnt admit that they dont have it in stock. Instead he was like you dont need to change it.

        • Sixth and Final Free service

Sixth and Final Free service report

          Kms Done:
4716 (very less even by my low standards, the thing was we purchased a car in June and I've been driving that most of the times hence the low number).

          SVC:
          Pacer Motors, Bangalore

          Complaints:
Chain was loose. Felt jerky while accelerating and decelerating.
Gear shift from neutral to first.
          Added the extra rear mudflap.

          Jobs Done:
          Wheel Balancing. (100)
          Oil Change. (630 FS oil)
          Chain lube (180)
Mud Flap (200 incl screws and everything)

Grand Total : 1245 (Highest ever for a free service)

          Feedback:
Engine feels good. Chain WAS NOT TIGHTENED in spite of me repeating it over and over and over. I still feel the jerkiness. Gear shift felt good for like 50kms after that reverted back to the same ol' problem. I'm starting to think something gets loosened after service since I see a lot of freeplay in the gear shifter.

Can you guys tell me how much your gear shifter moves. Like if you shake with your hand??

          • 2nd Insurance

Hey guys, I had completely forgot about renewing my insurance. So it lapsed.
I wanted to change it anyways from United India Assurance to some private guys.

Just when I was scratching my head, I got this sms from ICICI-Lombard about 2W Insurance. Dont know if it was god sent or just a coincidence I took it as a good sign and immediately applied.

Everything done over the phone. But the quote was too high (Rs 1286). It was even higher than my first years (Rs 1268). But since they didnt require to inspect the vehicle and gave the policy (soft copy) immediately I opted for them.

How much did you guys pay for your 2nd insurance and how much is the IDV?

Also any feedback about ICICI Lombard? My first exp with them.

My insurance also going to expire soon. I've zeroed to iffco-tokio and Tata-AIG, quotes were around 1.1 and 1.3k + 100 extra for online processing and they offer cashless claim.

On all gears. The rpm refers to engine speed. The run-in is for the engine to set.

Got the link from some other thread in xbhp . You can buy online from that site itself or from respective insurance co.'s website. Quotes by that site and co. were almost similar and both charge 100 extra for online processing.

                        • Did a test run of roughly 200 kms on my bike from Mumbai to Lonavla and back via old Mumbai - Pune highway this saturday. And i did rip her like crazy often hitting 110 - 115kmph (as on speedo not sure what would be the true speed). My bike responded really well on the corners and even after constant thrashing didn't complain while being on high revs nor did i notice any drop in power or any hiccups throughout my journey (Just did the 2nd servicing before going ahead with this ).

This bike did take quite a while to reach its top speed once the indicator hit 100 kmph... so yeah as mentioned by all the FZ owners, this bike really lacks the punch when you want to overtake another vehicle on highway. However, i did notice rather than constantly pressing the bike for 100+, if i accelerated and left it for a second or 2 and then again hit the accelerator, the bike accelerated much faster to its top speed.

As far as the fuel consumption is concerned, it did drop drastically from 43-47 kmpl (under normal city riding) to 30 kmpl when the tank hit reserve (1ltr).. and i wouldn't blame the bike at all as fuel economy wasn't on my list when i was ripping her all across the highway .

Once i do go for a longer trip... will then post details and pictures as well.
A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

                          • Yamaha had organized some sort of mela at RSI grounds, MG Road, Bangalore, from 12-14 Nov.

Yamaha sent me couple of invitations, but saw it only yesterday, so could not make it.

Did any one of you go there? How was it?

Ok. Next Year I know what to do

I didnt get any invites. I only read about it in the paper. They called it the Yamaha Fiesta.
