Here in pune when i went for air check up, puncture wala discovered 7 puncture in rear tyre, although tire was not flat. And again next day rear tire got flat. I am damn sure that puncture wala cheated me on that day, and somehow created one more puncture.

so I bought a puncture kit at 150rs, and got a foot pump at 430 rs and meter of 75 rs. Fixed the 8th puncture myself. After that riding rough, did not get any puncture, I keep meter under the seat, and checking air pressure regularly as there are total 8 punctures. But it is running fine, no air leakage from the punctures.
I went to Yamaha service center and got it fixed, there was a nail. They charged me 125 Rs. Apart from me another two people had come for puncture of rear tire of FZ, they were shouting at manager about the quality of tire and wanted them to report to Yamaha. One guy told me, he had so many punctures, then he resorted to tube inside tire as suggested by service center, and already two tubes are gone due to puncture.

Yes, from now on i will try to DIY, I already have an battery operated air-compressor which came with Jump-starter kit which i use for my car. And also i have this tubeless puncture kit which i had got in my car for free.

@singh_punit, it would be good if you could provide us steps, how you did fix the puncture. Did you remove the wheel itself or did it directly?

        my jumpstarter kit.

          • Another NAIL in my rear tyre. Rear tyre was almost flat this morning. Filled air from a near puncture wala. Will take it to some puncture guy in evening to fix it.

Its almost 3 Kms from my home to my new office and from past 4 months have spent around 700Rs on punctures.

Damn I am really frustrated now. Thinking for walking everyday till office.

LED consumes lots less current than bulb.

Hey which SVC is this? I havent seen any such thing at Pacer actually. I've had my fair share of misfortunes with my rear tyre. couple of puncture till date. But i make it a point to check my pressure once every 100km.

                        1st mileage : 55, max speed 60
2nd mileage : 50, max speed 101 only one time single, 85 two times with pillion
                        3rd mileage : 55

                        after 1st servicing
4th mileage : 39, may be svc guy taken some petrol from the tank, do not know?
5th mileage : need to wait 1 month as I have done full tank.
                        In SHOCK.

I've got max of 37 that too only in run-in. 33 is what i get nowadays. Though to be honest I kinda rip my bike a bit.

Here's a general trick I've learnt from Autocar. Always fill up your bikes either in early morning or at night rather than in the afternoons. This is bcoz at lower temp the fuel is more denser and you'd get more fuel per litre than at higher temp. Of course this trick isnt going to make my 33 into a 50, but just a decent trick of squeezing till the last drop.

For getting better mileage, I am warming it with 20-30 seconds in morning, then start to ride. Not accelerating hard, slowly increasing the speed to 50-60 only. Occasionally 70-75 on highway but no sudden acceleration.

Leaving the accelerator from distance to avoid sudden break and accelerator. Try to avoid too much gear change, so for shorter stretches I ride slowly on 3rd-4th gear to avoid extra gear changes.

This is panchee SVC in indiranangar. You can gauge the problem in rear FZ tyre with number of posting about puncture in this thread atleast 2-3 in a page. No other bike ownership thread talk about puncture when discussing bike. Earlier i had RX-100, same road , maybe i used to get punctured once an year, now its becoming one in a month or two.

What you guys think its because of? thin tires or soft tyres? I drive my car also in same route nothing happened.

Hey i have started doing the same thing... and now the bike is hitting around 47 - 49 kmpl... The only irritating thing is that the fuel gauge as faced by all the members of this thread.. a piece of crap!! Even when my bike has good 3 ltrs, it would still show me reserve!!
