Just when I was scratching my head, I got this sms from ICICI-Lombard about 2W Insurance. Dont know if it was god sent or just a coincidence I took it as a good sign and immediately applied.

Everything done over the phone. But the quote was too high (Rs 1286). It was even higher than my first years (Rs 1268). But since they didnt require to inspect the vehicle and gave the policy (soft copy) immediately I opted for them.

How much did you guys pay for your 2nd insurance and how much is the IDV?

Also any feedback about ICICI Lombard? My first exp with them.
ICICI Lombard and TATA AIG are known to be worst. They will give you a horrible time at the time of claims and all.

Totally confused. None of the two wheeler insurance guys giving any details about cashless claims, they just say that's available, but not how and where. If you ring up any of agent, your life will be a mess, which I am having right now Calling me every five minutes, started with two wheeler insurance and they now want me take health insurance

I'm confused whether to go for Tata or stick with New India

        • Bike gulping fuel!

Hey guys my fazer gave me 38 the first few times i filled but after tht she's been giving me 33 consistently. In order to increase FE and appease my dad
I started riding for mileage(Upshift at 4k,downshift at 2k,etc.)and now the mileage is 31.I have no idea how this has happened..I used to semi-rip her before..I also got the pressure checked..35 at rear and 30 at front.
Also my bike has started "knocking" a lot lately..gunshot sound from the silencer and sometimes when i push start it starts n then goes off making the dhak sound..any idea what might be causing this?I have done 2k kms on odo.

it might be possible that your running a richer mixture than needed.... go to the svc and tell them to adjust it for mileage...

I'm confused whether to go for Tata or stick with New India

                Help me.
When my insurance expired, I was looking for New India coz thats what the SVC and my dealer had switched to, and I thought it was better to keep that one. I could not find their office () and instead saw National Insurance's office on the way. I thought insurance is just insurance, and so decided to go for it.

When I had the misfortune of crashing my bike (on a straight.. slightly slushy road ), I took my bike to the svc and told them I wanted insurance claimed on it. They drew up an estimate. I had to take the estimate to the NI office, submit it along with thr form, and said goodbye to my bike for 2 weeks.
Afterwards, there were no hassles apart from the long time taken to clear the claim.

So my view is that NI took a while to get the claim cleared (being sarkaari and all) but they did not do any jhikjhik about how much to pay up. According to the terms, plastics were covered for 50% of the cost and metal parts were covered for 100%. Based on that, my estimate was 1750 (which I paid cash at the svc to get my bike back) and the check arrived 15 days after for 1400.

Good enough for me. I've not interacted with any other insurance company. Hope this helped.

                • With in 10 days again puncture in my rear tire, i am tired of this MRF tire its prone to puncture every now and then, and also nothing to say about grip, it can easily skid if there is little sand gravel or if there is wet mud on road.

Can any one give me contact where i can get Pirelli in bangalore?

That's an insane figure dude...but may be you are running on lean mixture, your bike's top whack must be then limited to 103-105 kmph... not that you need it that much... i was hitting close to 43-47 kmpl after the 1st servicing... 2nd servicing, i ripped her like crazy as mentioned in my previous post and it reached 30kmpl... but now i think i should be back to the same figures...being back to the regular commuting.

Hey guys, i do need suggestions on how to improve my riding for better fuel efficiency. I must be honest, i used to constantly shift gears earlier to be on the higher power band.. but now have resorted to sticking to 5th gear even around 25 kmph under city traffic. the bike does respond well having tons of torque. Anyways, your suggestions on better driving habits are most welcome

Did you get your tyres flat or puncture is discovered by puncture wala?
Here in pune when i went for air check up, puncture wala discovered 7 puncture in rear tyre, although tire was not flat. And again next day rear tire got flat. I am damn sure that puncture wala cheated me on that day, and somehow created one more puncture.

so I bought a puncture kit at 150rs, and got a foot pump at 430 rs and meter of 75 rs. Fixed the 8th puncture myself. After that riding rough, did not get any puncture, I keep meter under the seat, and checking air pressure regularly as there are total 8 punctures. But it is running fine, no air leakage from the punctures.
