          hawt!!!

Though i wonder if anyone has tried a slimmer rear tyre on the FZ. I saw one FZ-S with a 120 section MRF on the rear, and it dint look too bad. Could not find the owner to actually take feedback.

What i am interested in, is did it impact the mileage ( did it improve ), acceleration ( reduced drag due to lesser contact patch) and top speed ( slightly bigger OD ).

Anyone tried this on a FZ yet??

My offerings to the gods of speed -

          - KTM Duke 200
          - Yamaha RXZ 5 speed

And he was right, asked 3-4 dealers and they had the same answer. MRF is only 200-300 Rs cheaper than Pirelli SD. But SD is not in the same size. It comes in 140/70 and as per the dealer there will be marginal increase in height and will be a direct fit.
Increase of height should be boon for FZ, especially as it hits humps badly when we are doubles.

              • I recently put 10W40, fully synthetic Oil of Shell. It cost me Rs 745. GearShift has become butter smooth, just like it was before 1st service on my FZ. And while driving at high speed or sudden acceleration there is no engine sound at all unlike before. I am really enjoying the smoothness of my bike now, behaving like fully different bike I never expected there will be so much difference. They told you can drive upto 8000 kms, but i think i would change by 5000 kms.

                • Hii....
I got my Fazer s 2nd service done today... on1222 kms...
This time I opted for 15-50 W Yamahalube Semi Synth Engine Oil...Rs,415
But unlike after my 1st service (230) I don feel any change in d smoothness...
Last time (after 1st service,) I could really feel the smoothness,,, after changing the engine oil...

Y is itt so?? Or is it gonna take some time (few km s of run) as this time the oil is differnt..............

2.Another thing is tt the Head Of workshop suggested me to remove the engine plate (one which was added by me after the purchase to prevent the engine from dirt and water...
He told tat Yamaha bikes has an aerodynamic design to collect the cool air and send it to the base of the engine,,, while the plate blocks it.. So in this way THERE WILL BE AN INCREASE IN THE ENGINE SOUND...
                  Is it so????

I'm taking my FZ to first service in an hour, I have read few posts in this thread suggesting which oil to use etc., Can someone suggest me if I should buy the oil or can I trust the SVC guys to use genuine oil. Is there something I need/suggest ask them? I'm also getting a free teflon coating, is it any worth?

                    Cheers
I would suggest stick to Yamalube for now - whatever the SVC fills in (its gonna be mineral). Free teflon coating? hells yea! y not?

Yes sir, that is true - that the stock Revz are running low in supply for some reason. Also, PSD's would add about 3 cms of height to the rear wheel - and I really dont know how its gonna affect the centre of gravity, coz that low C of G is what makes her a beautiful corner-carver in the city streets.

Disadvantage of the PSD's is that it would wear out really quickly coz the compound is much softer. Err.. try giving the MT75 a look. They are the same size as the PSD's and are slightly harder than the PSD's, so u get more kms from it, and honestly, u aren't riding on the track for the majority of the time to demand the velcrow like stickiness of the PSD's. MT75 seems like a good trade-off to make.

                      • Return value of the MRF RevZ

Hey guys, Now that a lot of you are getting your rear tyre changed, how much return value are you getting for your old RevZ tyre.

Coz in cars you do get a return value (where in the dealer takes the oldies, rethread them and sell em). But of course the condition of the old tyre matters too.

                          MRF Tyres

There is no RevZ mentioned. Are they planning to phase it out

But the good news is the Zapper Q has a similar profile to the RevZ 140/70 - 17.

So now we have 2 options.

Thanks mate. I spoke to the SVC guy, he suggest using the default Yamahalube for now, after 2500-3000KM recommended semi-synthetic which is used in R-15 (costs around Rs.450). Can't wait to see what Teflon Coating can add

                            Cheers

Revz was never listed there since the beginning. Zapper-Q is tubed tyre and Revz not 140/70
