And once you convince them that everything is not correct then you need to see what that guy is doing in order to rectify it.

Maybe I will make sense to you after few services. Till then enjoy.
Well your word of caution is really helpful and i do understand how it feels when someone does a shoddy job and still says "sab kuch theek hain sir".. i hope next time rather than trying to convince try the mumbaiyaa style of screaming and making a scene.. that may help ... just kidding!! But like you said.. if someone doesnot listen then you have the right to scream and get the work done..

Yes my friend I have seen many people screaming there. No point in screaming at those mechanics.....I always give a call to their regional manager if anything goes wrong with the service or my bike.

      • Just choose any SVC, out of the mechanics see whose the best, n follow the procedure below:

        1. first time give him 100/= n tell him all that needs to be checked...
        2. Second time give him 50 to 100 depending on the issues after servicing..
        3. when you finish your free service, go to the SVC n just say u need the oil change and bike wash ONLY, payy 220 + 50, let him do the full service n give him a considerable amount....

last service, I did so n wanted to change the chain but due to unavailability, the mechanic solved as he had one which costed me 600 instead of the set with sprocket which is 1200, paid cost of oil n washing but they charged 100 as they noticed the tyre removal and chain changing... 350 for a paid service is too much while they dont really do anything apart from oil changing
I'd rather be fast than invisible!!!!!

So, what is a good solution now? Phillips xtremevision for half the cost and longer lifetime? Another thing.. is it necessary to get it in pairs? I was thinking of changing my high beam bulb only.

And any suggestions on the tire? btw, I feel the stock isnt that bad

            What to do???

Yeah you can get a single pack of osram NBs for the same price as a double pair of xtreme powers

              What could be the problem???

Err.. yea.. I had checked out the lights like a year back and I remembered that there were 2 separate lighting points. I did check it out again 2day. So, like I said there were 2 lighting points (1 for low beam, 1 for high beam and both of them light up when u press the pass switch), but the socket was single :'(

Now.. I think a mech would be able to answer this better, but since a lot of ppl have had the lights worked on (including u), is there a way to remove that thing from its singular socket, replace one out of the two lighting points and put the thing back in?

And another thing I noticed is that the 2 lighting points are aligned one behind the other - the one that is low beam is in front (and so, farther away from the socket end) and the one that is for high beam is behind the first one (and so, closer to the socket end). So it should be easier (if at all possible) to replace the one which is closer to the socket end.

It also seems the glass container which holds the 2 lighting points is sealed shut and there is no way to unscrew the socket connection to take the lighting-point-closer-to-the-socket-end out and connect a new one in.. but I can be (and I hope I am) wrong.

Now, the more pertinent question.. If I am wrong, what do I do about this weird set up?

dude.... let me tell you something about the headlight assembly of motorcycles....

there are 4 parts in a headlight

                  1. the glass dome
                  2. the reflector
                  3. bulb
                  4. and the socket
which connects the bulb to the battery and the switches...

now the bulb is a single unit and cannot be separated into LOW beam component and HIGH beam component....

you WILL have to change the bulb even if you have to change any one of the beams....
it is like a normal bulb used in any of the households apart from the two lightning points...
the smallest parts which the whole thing can be separated into are mentioned above in bold apart from that they CANNOT be separate into smaller parts untill and unless you break them.....
I think this should solve your weird problem if you still have any doubts please pm me...

                              • Hi All,

I am seeing nowadays that the yamaha logo on the FZ's are getting stolen and even in my new FZS which is a month old the yamaha logo on the back above the reflector has been stolen.Even when taking my FZ from service I saw lot of FZ in the service center without the yamaha logo on the front side panels.

Why would one steal this logo and whats the use for them apart from spoiling our bike's look.

                                your suggestions people
