Welcome back buddyOriginally posted by N-o-v-i-c-e View Post@all : Howz u guys????? been long time..coz of work....i see there are many new members
.....
Even my friends helmet was stolen the same way...with the lock itself

....so now hes using the cycle lock as kinshuk mentioned and it still stays there unlike the older one....
@eliksir: Regarding the seat lock mine would also take a lot of effort to get locked.....like ROCKY punch style effort
......
took it to the SVC and they changed it...but what i noticed is still it takes some effort.....
Believe me or not there is a sweet spot which u need to find out and voila!!!!....the seat gets locked with a soft push....atleast thats what i experienced and am sure about it....
@dude_phenom : i have seen a guy put the lock on the handlebar.....he is careful that the helmet is always on the speedo console and not on the tank.....
so locking the helmet even for a small ride is out of question...u can only use it when it is parked.....
hes been using it that way....hope this gives u some idea....
CHEERS.......
And... regarding the seat lock, I haven't tried to get the helmet strap out and lock it.. but I do keep a cloth in there under the rear seat and have to get it out every night while traveling back from office to wipe the dew off the seat. I have noticed that it takes hardly any effort to lock it in - just drop the seat from a height of 1 or 2 inches and the thing snaps in easy.

Try Perfect Riders, Lalbagh road. My experience has been pretty ok with them.

Actually when I bought my Fazer last year the first day I opened the seat. All my friends were trying to put it back but the holder below the seat was not getting locked. We all really tried hard for 30 mins but none of us was able to lock the seat despite various attempts. Then one of my friend ran home and brought his FZ seat. It got locked in the first attempt.Originally posted by s_and_m View PostWelcome back buddy
And... regarding the seat lock, I haven't tried to get the helmet strap out and lock it.. but I do keep a cloth in there under the rear seat and have to get it out every night while traveling back from office to wipe the dew off the seat. I have noticed that it takes hardly any effort to lock it in - just drop the seat from a height of 1 or 2 inches and the thing snaps in easy.
So then our engineering minds came along
to check the difference between the two seats and came to a conclusion that the holder beneath the seat of my Fazer was small as compared to the holder of my friends FZ.
So took my bike without the seat locked to the dealer. Unfortunately he was closed. But saw one more guy with Fazer standing outside his showroom for some work. Told him that I am not able to lock my seat. He asked to get aside banged on the seat and it was locked.

The told me that he too was having same problem and the showroom guys asked him to bang hard on the seat for locking it.

Then when I took it to the SVC the guys told that the seats for Fazer requires some efforts. Till date when I lock my helmet under the seat I need to bang hard many times and everone is the parking stares at me as if I am a psycho who is hitting so hard.

need some help with R2R method of measuring mileage.
I hit reserve when my ODO was 103. went on and finally filled just more than a litre (60Rs worth) of petrol when it was 134 and turned the knob. Now ODO says 153 and i still haven't hit the reserve. Does this mean i'm getting atleast 50kmpl ?
moreover around 25km of that was done in bumper to bumper traffic on lower gears.

hmmm... dude you have fueled it for a litre at 134 ... now its 153 ... which is only 19kms right ???Originally posted by eliksir View Postneed some help with R2R method of measuring mileage.

ah well. forget it.
how to measure FE in the R2R method, assuming that there are no bunks nearby (within 10km) when you hit reserve ?

Exactly......thats what i am trying to tell u all....there are some which get locked easilyOriginally posted by RAK View PostActually when I bought my Fazer last year the first day I opened the seat. and then there are some which require you to have Arnold's biceps
(i wud love to have them though
) to get locked properly....
Whenever or wherever you hit reserve reset your trip meter to zero immediately......Originally posted by eliksir View Postbut i hit reserve at 103....

Then later on go and fill the petrol(note the quantity) and when you hit reserve again just check on the trip reading...
Now calulate and you will have your FE.....
To reduce the error margin fill some decent amount of petrol....like 3-4 litres...
cheers.....
