IF they give you any crap regarding that 1year and free services scheme , just give them a piece of your mind and threaten to complain to higher authorities ...

EDIT: nice mods , i too have the Tail LED's , so you plonked an LED in front as well ? I think your asking for trouble in Bangalore with the front number on your visor , especially with our cops snooping around looking for a quick buck ...
my bike has done some odd 6000 km,sohope that I will get the free srvc... and I regularly ply on banerghata road from gottigere oneards to brigade infront of the traffic cops..they still dint caught me but was fined twice taking wrong turn..so This rule may not be an issue...in this road.

dude if you are eligible for the free service within the time-frame specified , go for it , don't let the SVC give you any crap ...

You maybe lucky for now , coz many a time , near commercial street i have been questioned for a bent number plate also ... always got away with it , but be careful nonetheless ...

@shv18: could you explain why that is so ? because I can't seem to find a reason why we can't jump to a 9amp battery , ours being a DC setup ...

whether DC or AC you can always jump from a 5Amp battery to a 9Amp battery without any hassles of rewinding as the current provided to charge the battery is limited at a certain level. even during the discharge of the battery the wires can hold that amount of current without any chances of wire insulation melting...

I was turning along a curve when suddenly the car ahead of me stopped abruptly, and in that panic situation i squeezed the discs and down i went to kiss the tarmac, luckily i was unscathed but my baby fz16 bore the brunt with some scratches and a bent handle. I went and replaced the handle right away which set me back by rs. 240.
This morning while i was riding my bike, i heard a weird sound like 'tak tak tak' from the rear tyre when the rear brakes were applied. This is disturbing me. What might be the problem? and is there a possibility of the alignment going off the line.

            Awaiting ur reply at earliest.

hmmm... exactly what I was wondering , the only reason I thought of was the wiring being unable to handle the current ... which again seemed very unlikely to me ... then I thought all those classes I bunked ( i'm doin E&EE) might have caused me to miss something

                • Guys,
Posting this query on behalf of my friend who owns a FZ16, recently hes facing the following issue with his bike.
While riding (in any gear for that matter), the engine turns off/sputters on letting go off the accelerator and applying it back again. The accelerator needs to be applied repeatedly (in a release/apply-fashion), the engine responds, & sometimes turns off as well.If the engine is in the neutral gear, the above mentioned issue doesn't persist. He got the carbs cleaned/serviced ,but of no use. Also, eversince this problem has begun, the bike gives an avg of hardly 25-28 km/L

                  Any thoughts? Opinions please

That is exactly my concern, with the higher amp output rating of the battery.. won't we be putting extra load on the wiring?? sorry wasn't able to post it earlier... internet trouble.. frequent dcs today

it is showing signs of very rich mixture.... tell him to get the carb checked by some other mechanic or tell him to tune the carb himself....

                          • sound from rear tyre

                            hey folks,

thanx a lot for the input. I went ahead to the svc guys and they tried to do something with the chain slack and the sound still persisted. To top it all, they said that it was normal, i was gobsmacked and rode to a bike zone station and they took the tyre off and cleaned the pads inside and voila the sound just vanished!!! thanked them a bunch....
i'm riding my baby with peace in my heart...!!!

                            • am finding the neutral almost everytime now. Shifts from 1st to 2nd only if the speed is in 2 digits. Also shifts from 2nd to 1st only if in 2 digits. Its a boon when slowing down to a halt but sucks when trying to move in bumper to bumper traffic.
only 500km on odo, still to be serviced.
