otherwise you will be better off without the insurance claim as it takes a lot of hassle you wont be able to ride your bike for at least 1-2 weeks.
and there after the insurance money will come only after 2-3 months...

the joel exhaust costs around 7.5k

now i think you can take the call....

last year also I didnot claim any insurance..Headlamp they are asking 1500 here & exhaust cover 250+ 80 in bangalore.I will not buy it now,rather will go for joel ffe nxt month.thanx for the info..will decide about other parts..But FFE from joel so not intended to buy covers.

the price of the headlight is too much try another svc for headlight....

the NCB increases by 5% every year from the previous year if you havent given for a claim.

Would it be good to clean chain with kerosene or diesel? After that use chain lube. Will kerosene or diesel do any harm to tha chain because some suggested to use kerosene/diesel?

Hey guys,

Finally after much consideration I bought FZ-s(blue silver), been riding it for 4 days now.

Please give me some tips on how to maintain the bike. Specially that open chain and rear tire.

has the entire headlight assembly gone ? all the wierd clamps on it too ? if yes, all together will come to about 1500. and you would get only 50% for it. (plastic)

no,plastics are fine.will get a new one for 900 after few days bcause monsoon will again play its part

,so will wait a bit.

thanks even i faced the same problem and I accidently came across this post and what an answer ,I checked my Choke and yeah it was half way down (yamaha fazer 150 cc ) and its true that I didnt feel that performance was down but the engine used to get hot and sometimes the RPM wouldnt come down.

fibre part develops crack

my yamaha fazer 150cc has developed a small crack on the silver coloured side panel,wonder whats the reason ,it hasnt fallen anywhere nor has it met with any accident :-(

Yes I got it split in two parts like pulsar 220. And got the pillion seat more wider and raised. Everything cost me 600rs here in Pune. I got it done in Nanapeth, from a big seat maker shop.

Have any of you'll had a problem with the bike turning off all of a sudden while cruising aroung 40-45kmph?? it jus make a puff sound and shuts off. I've got the spark plug replaced, carb cleaned and it still occurs almost every second day. Pretty suprised with the issue as the bike has only done 6200kms. Got it checked at the service centre. they've incresed the fuel feed. but it still happens. its scary when it happens when there is traffic behind.

Open chain can be lubed as per your riding schedule..
My personal suggestion would be clean it every week with use of WD-40 and then lube it with chain spray. It keeps the chain in tip top condition. Yamaha themselves promote use of Motul chain lube. You can go for that but the cost is Rs 480 for 400 ML...instead of that you can try OKS chain spray for Rs240- 500ML....does the job in less cost...

You can keep the bike on main stand and do the need full!!!!

How I used to maintain my bike(apart from cleaning your bike)

1. Don't try to use Semi-Synth or Synthetic Engine Oil in the initial Run-In period.
2. Lube your chain periodically, I used to do every 15th day.
3. Don't Over-Rev your engine above 4K-4.5K RPM for some 1500 KM.
4. Clean spark plugs once a month.

My daily ride is not more than 15KM, and during some weekends will hit some 100 KM.
