A quick ride is no match for a quick rider ... but anyway , you didn't really have to redline each gear ... the max torque is produced at 7500RPM IIRC ... you shoulda shifted at that RPM ... but also , you had a 10KM DRAG !!!! man even circuits aren't THAT long ...

P.S: If it was a P150 classic ... then don't worry , that thing has got amazing pull at high revs .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Dude Gear shifting matters a lot !!! shift at higher RPMS for sportier ride ! If you shift earlier even a discover can beat you 9provided he shifts late)

Yup!! dont try to redline almost every gear to gain the most shift at the rpm which is denoted to produce maximum torque that too our FZ is a torque carrying machine and about the classic P150 i agree its one hell of a beast! my bro used to own one of that before getting an R15 and P150 had soo much power in it

I got mine for around 250bucks .... and no it does not come with the airpump , although I think you could get the airpump for around 450bucks ....

Thanks for ur replies guys ..It was the classic pulsar(The one without the twin tail-lights) so I guess I hv nothing to be worried abt.The thing tht bugged me was tht no matter hw much i revved my babe he was still gaining ground..and his is a 7-year old bike!!And I guess our FZ s aren't meant for drags anyways..style,handling,stunting and low end torque
Guys I was thinking of removing the air filter cover to get sm growl outta my beast..any idea of what consequences it could have?

                    • Hey guys, My FZ is giving mileage of 25 in Thrash mode and 30 -35 with Normal riding condition. Any idea about this? I don't want SVC guys to tweak with carb setting coz then it will be trial & error basis.

P.S : 1700KM done and had 2nd serviced at 1500 KM. I use Yamalube (20W40) as suggested with normal petrol (not octane).

                      • creaking sound from front wheel

Hi there folks, this is my first post since i bought my fz a few days back and i'm absolutely loving it. But it seems tat all good things do come to an end.

I'm facing a new problem since yesterday, there is a creaking sound from the front wheel while its rotating and upon applying the brakes the sound becomes pretty loud.
I took my bike over to the service guys and i was informed tat its pretty normal since the bike is new, its gonna take some time before the disc and pads get in sync. I just dint understand what he meant. Is this normal or were they ignorant about the whole issue. Plss help..
                        Appreciate ur reply.
                        Thank you..

                        • hey there buddy , hold on to your horses... don't worry there's nothing on a bike you can't fix ... don't let that hamper your experience on the FZ ... I have heard that a sound from the disc is present when the pads are new , so give it some time and then check , you can always go back to the SVC and insist on having it checked ... chill out man !

the problem you are referring to arises usually due to moisture in the pads... try heating them by gently squeezing them while riding...

but I dont know about what the service guy said... it might be true but just go to him and ask once again what time does they to get in sync with each other... because I did not have any such problem in the beginning...
BTW how old is your bike??

                              hi advait,

the thrash mode and normal riding condition varies from person to person.... before going to the svc,try riding your bike around 55-60 in 5th gear, change gears at 3.5-4k rpm for a couple of days and then measure the mileage....

My bike's 3 days old and 200 on the odo till date. But it still kinda seems odd to me, could u pls enlighten me on this issue.
