as long as you are willing to pay for the service i am sure they won't have any problem with that
.. don't sweat on it... FFE will not change anything internal in your bike. otherway round it will improve the outflow of exhaust gases thus making the bike more free revving and provide solid output.. i would recommend getting in touch with joel anna for the FFE... his exhaust systems have proven to be really worth the money..

We cannot fit ABS for our Yamaha bike, since ABS needs Speed sensors, Controller ECU Units and many other units which are to be in Sync with the Engine. Since it involves work in ECU and Brake Pressure sensors which varies with every bikes, we cannot fit to any other bikes.
Might be someone really could bring out an aftermarket, but it is better there is one from Yamaha we can go for that.
Why don't you try Mechanical ABS ???
It is really good.

well i have shared the links few pages before of the guys who have gone ahead with the FFE mods in their various bikes and seen the difference... so if you consider their statement true then yes its worth every penny you pay for the ffe...Originally posted by Lasheen View Posti did contact joel.. he said i should change the xhaust and his will give me 10% boost to power and torque..are you using these? just want to know if its worth the price tag...if it is i'm game!A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

but i read others reporting 40-45 .....
depends on the following factors:
a) do you red line your bike on the 1st 3 gears and then hit 4th and 5th on say 4.5 - 5 k rpm?? = mileage will drop significantly. if you want better mileage then i would suggest hitting the gears around 5000 rpm (to get that edge of going ahead of the traffic between the signals and yet not straining the engine to end up drinking more fuel). Otherwise for full fuel efficiency (i.e. splendor mode), changing gears at 4k rpm and then not crossing the speed of 60 - 65kmph (this one fetched me 47-49 kmpl!! although gives really a dreary feeling and makes you feel like you have wasted money on fz and should have got a splendor instead!!
).
b) maintain the correct tyre pressure = Provides adequate grip and also reduces significant friction between the tyre and the tarmac thus, prolonging the life of the tyre and also helping in FE. company recommended setting is 28 front and 33 psi rear. But many have reported better FE on 30 front & 35 rear psi set up. i would say stay with the factory recommended psi's.
c) final thing which is most common amongst all other FZ rides= the A/F ratio of the carburetor is on rich mixture setting hence the engine has more grunt but significantly reduces mileage.... i presume if you have taken care of the other two above then this may be the culprit.
I would say let your engine hit 2000 kms first to let the internal parts set in completely. Even after that if the figures are still low then trouble shoot using the above mentioned points. My bike initially gave me the same figures until i had crossed 2,200 kms on the odo. After that, my FE has been consistent throughout. 40-45 kmpl when riding sanely, 36-39 kmpl mix riding and insane thrash mode 36-37 kmpl.
end of the day do keep in mind one thing... Yamahas have always been known for performance and not for mileage. So if you by any chance expecting the similar figures of pulsars and Honda's, you knocking at the wrong door buddy.

i know that mileage shouldnt matter but when other reported 37 in thrashing mode i was wondering why am i getting so less and i do follow a and b and will wait till 2000 kmsOriginally posted by shv18 View Postdepends on the following factors:

Choke was the culprit...too much fuel pouring in...Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostHi,
My bike is brand new & I'm facing starting trouble. Generally I put the fuel valve on off when I reach home if I know I'm not going to to ride any time soon than in the morning. That is after 6-7 hrs. But in the morning the bike won't start even if I give full choke while using the ignition switch. I have a kick, but that also won't help. Finally I have to give little throttle to start then release it & reduce the choke gradually.
Today I didn't go to office, so started the bike after 16 hrs. Same problem. When I gave little throttle it started but I saw very little smoke coming from exhaust. It's not cold in Pune now. I'm not experiencing any misfire or knocking.
Wondering what's wrong?

Dont fall for that. Many claim that they "trash" the bike and all they do is shift at 5.5-6.5k or ride at high speeds. That isnt trashing.Originally posted by harsh8 View Posti know that mileage shouldnt matter but when other reported 37 in thrashing mode i was wondering why am i getting so less and i do follow a and b and will wait till 2000 kms

Shv,has covered all the points.a smooth ride should return a mileage close to 37 or so,if not then check your Carb's tuning.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.
