Metzler got many other patterns too. Somebody mentioned the same tyre as Metzler when I was in search for my rear tyre

Metzler is available in India, but not officially.

        • MILAGE = 22kmpl

Guys my bike has crossed 1350km on Odo (i had my oil changed n chain lubed in my first service)
last week i revved my bike a lot in 1st gear n guess what my milage was a minimal 22kmpl i was shocked

Besides i have never gotten more than 33kmpl despite adhearing to all the necessary conditions ie not revving much n not crossing 60kmph most of the times

I m wondering why is it so ?
agreed i didnt ride in splendor mode but still my riding aint on the high end by normal standards n even my friend whos got the same bike is not getting more than 35kmpl

Do u guys really get 40kmpl Milage

I dont know if it is crucial to ride in splendor mode for the first 1000 kms.. but I did it and use to get 45+ kmpl...

and mileage not only depends upon your riding habbits but also you weight .. the roads you ride through and your acceleration .. If you want mileage avoid using breaks and control your bike with acceleration..

Still you can go to a good mechanic and have your bike checked .. rest technical suggestion can be from fellow FZiers as I am not mechanically sound person

if you ride like you are saying then in that case check the following things....

              1. method to calculate the average.
              2. tyre air pressure
              3. the setting of your AF (air fuel mixture) screw in the carb. take the bike to svc and tell the mechanic to tune it for milleage. there might be some loss in the acceleration of the bike.

also please review your riding method like do you dash for a space while moving in traffic as soon as you see one? if the answer is yes then thats the problem. because your bike is anyways consuming more than required fuel in stop-go traffic but when it goes under the above process the fuel consumption increases to ridiculous levels.

another tip can be to keep the bike in the correct gear. many of us dont mind starting the bike from standstill in 2nd, 3rd and even 4th and 5th gear. that is one major deterrent to mileage of any vehicle.

              • Friends, My FZ-s is just 1600 km old and I used to get around 38 kmpl. I used to ride 28 & 35 psi air, and checked the mileage by reserve to reserve with approx 8 ltr fuel.

The first service was in 760 km and that time they replace the oil filter when replacing the engine oil, now after almost 1000 km should i need to replace it again or just change the oil. Or should I wait for the 2nd service at 3000 km.

So, you mean no need to replace the oil now.

                          • hi,

I am new member to this forum.I own Yamaha Fz16 bought on December 2008.Bike has completed 37000 km.Two months back i gave bike to Yamaha service center for decarbonizing engine (at 34500 km). After decarbonization the bike became sluggish around 2000 rpm (like petrol is not coming to the engine properly). So it is difficult to ride thru heavy traffic and move bike from first gear.Above 3000 rpm bike is perfect and smooth. There is no issue when engine is cold, the problem starts when engine warms up (after 3 or 4 kms of riding).I have checked petrol flow , engine oil level which is OK.I took to bike to workshop shop they replaced air filter, cleaned and retuned carburetor. But the problem is not rectified. What could be the issue. At present bike is giving mileage of 40-43 kmpl on long distance driving.Strangely Yamaha service people were unable to identify the problem.

Please let me know anybody faced similar issue with bike?

                              1. take a bottle of water and wet the puncture patches to see it they are leaking air....

                              2. check the wheel rim for any bends... this can be done by manual inspection and/or machine inspection. the machine can be found at almost all the major mechanics and tyre specialists....

                              • Hey loosing about 3 psi from bith the tyres in a week is normal or is there any problem i fill 35 at the rear and within 1 week in becomes 33 or 32
and front it becomes 24 or 25 after filling 28

                                And

Motul chain lube cost 450 at the SVC and 510 at Auto Queen
my friend got it he told its a black can and the person out there told that its the new stock or version something
What is the difference from the old lube and the new lube which is coming
is he reffering to factory line lube
what is the difference beteween Motul Factory line and the normal lube
