I thought I would post a summary update here as well, (have already posted in Riding gears)

I have bought part of gear (reqd for SS1K next weekend! and of-course general riding ) yesterday, and will buy the rest today.
I have been riding with the gear since yesterday.
More updates on that in detail, later.

    Update on Gear:

Yesterday I visited Orion Motors and Helmet Paradise for gear purchase.
    Gear picked:

    1. Riding Jacket DSG Nero - 5500 INR
    2. Balaclava (Alpinestars) - 300 INR
    3. Gloves DSG Revive - 2200 INR (I came back and checked, the cost on DSG site is 1990 INR - the shop should get a revisit from me today! )
    4. Replaced (clear) visor (Helmet- Vega Boolean) - 160 INR

    Accessory bought:

    1. Tank Pad (Carbon fibre-Keiti) - 900 INR

    Still to buy:

    1. Knee guards
    2. Saddlebags
    3. Accessories and spares:

    WD40+OKS Chain Lube
    Acc/Clutch cables
    Spark plug
    Puncture repair kit
    Foot pump (with gauge preferably)

Can anyone in Bangalore help me with a single store for accessories/spares - (preferably near Marathahalli)

    Thanks,

    Ace.

    P.S.
    One more thing:
I have put my case here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...tml#post679613
I have put in the sealant (preventaflat solution) in my tires.
Do I still need to carry the Puncture kit/Pump? any information on this, folks?

    Thanks.

I would suggest you to get at least an ls2 or crown helmet for your run...
plus it is always good to carry the puncture kit.

and i dont think you would need a saddle bag. instead of that a normal backpack attached with the help of bungee chord will do.

also try and get a water bag or a home made sip up bottle with flexible straw so that you wont have to stop for water breaks and can stay hydrated easily....

Thanks for the input - but, I think that might not be possible to buy one..
But, I will try to look at some borrowables-for-the-task.

Ya, I gathered from their site, that there is no "pump" required.
Hence, was asking if puncture kit is required?

hmm, I will freeze that option today.
If something fits within like 2K INR - then ok, otherwise bungee cords it is

Oh, yes, I have seen a water bag at a shop (just before Marathahalli bridge).
I will check that out as well.

      thanks,

      Ace.
I wish, I would be paid by the word! :p

These guys follow a standard procedure . any bike that comes in , chain clean n lube , tappet adjust , wheel truing ... they don't check if you need it or not , YOU have to tell them ...
Oh I see..do they let you watch them?Because they told me to go to the waiting room last time..but yeah you can still see them from the waiting room

I guess 20k kms are the ideal time for the change of tyres though I am not sure.. and it basically it depends upon use.. i changed to pirelli SD @ 17k kms because i was sick of raising no. of punctures every month

i do as the americans say " dont fix it, if it aint broke"

i will change my bike's tyre only when there is less than 5mm of tread left on it or when they are about to go bald (just like hair replacement surgeries dont go for them untill you are almost bald)

i kinda doubt if its Metzeler. The thread pattern is not the same as Metzeler.

PS: is Metzeler available in India?
