  • Guys saw an FZ today, looked like the ride was equipped with the projector headlight of P220 but cannot confirm, but the light was not HID as the throw was yellowish like P220.
Is it possible to do so, if yes then how can it be done & how much will be the cost ?
Also what will be the pro's & con's of the set up ?

Today tried some 0 to 100 kmph tests using speedview pro for android(GPS based). My fazer (stock) took 20 seconds to reach 100 from a standstill. It wasn't a perfect run so I guess a pro can do it in some 18 seconds. Btw anybody tried acceleration tests?

Hi Abhishek, I do have an FZ headlight with a p220 projector in it.... the pros are very good and focussed beam after installing it with HID. the con is mine is a single beam setup so you will only get a single beam. the pics of it can be seen in the link in my signature...

Apologies to everyone! Hereafter I think I don't have to rely of milk, I need to change to the level of having solid food.

That is still a wrong process. A wise man once told me 'there is no point of talking to someone who doesn't want to listen you!'. If your friend is running his bike and not following your advice then let it be... Please understand your method is still wrong. Anyways now since, you have clarified your statement, it becomes much clearer to all of us.. but then again you have to be careful while posting what you intend to say and what it actually means. Instead of taking it personally as grudge against any of the member be it me or Deville or anyone else in the forum... you should take the comments/replies as a constructive criticism and work on it. No hard feelings, thats all i have to say. Its good at times to accept that you are wrong and then understand how to make yourself better by taking advise, doing research.. you will at the end become more knowledgeable and enlightened.

Now i think i am starting to sound like one of those religious "art of living gurus" tv channel voice over artist!!

Moving on... in regards to your method of drainage of oil at intervals.. well in logical terms yes it will reduce a lot of particulates floating in the OEM oil which came along with the bike when you had completed about 250-350 kms and then changed and then at periodic intervals you continued the process. It is a matter of personal preference, like in my case i followed the manual and it seems my bike just running butter smooth like she was since, the day i have purchased her. No hard and fast rule on this one.

          Cheers,

If the sole intent is to do a drag then:
            1) No street racing/drags please!! road should be straight and flat, no elevation.
            2) Pump up the air front: 29 psi and rear 35psi.
            3) Fuel quantity around 3-4 ltrs max.
            4) keep the revs at around 3-4000 rpm and then blip the clutch and do every gear changes at 7500-8000 rpm to get the max power out of the engine.
            5) You should be fully geared and fully crouched to reduce as much wind resistance/drag as possible.

That should help you bring the nos. down further. BTW the phone GPS is also not truly accurate. for 100% accuracy one will have to look towards RACELOGIC or G TECH PRO data logging devices which measure speed, elevation and other parameters using 9-10 GPS satellites @10 Hz.

RACELOGIC's VIDEOBOX the latest iteration of VBOX also records videos of your drag/lap, providing customised graphical data along with a recorded video like shown in this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRtNskcbuzk but costs over $1500/- to purchase in USA.

BTW just an info for the Noobs RACELOGIC's VBOX data is the industry standard for all data loggins for Top Gear UK show, Magazine tests done in India atleast. Till the time i knew the Top Gear India magazine team, they were using the RACELOGIC VBOX to give out the results.

Cheaper version is GTECH PRO RR, Costs around $400/- but also gives out quite a lot of data: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6k9E...eature=related

quite expensive to procure in India though.

            Cheers,

I, for once, will not blame bro Jonamaho for topping-up his friend's bike with used oil from his well taken care bike!

Sometimes, things and events make one do things not exactly "to the book"!

I had, when I was young (....decades ago... ) and already very old Ford Anglia. Not the one with the "reverse" window: much older! It had a side valves engine, and a three speed gearbox, but that was still a loveable all black car with red interior! I treated it like a child, and one could have eaten on the engine so immaculate is was. But it was drinking gallons of oil, and my finances were so tight that I just had to choose: feed it with the cheapest possible oil and use it very little, or use it as needed but...top-up with used engine oil a mechanic said he would give me, for free of course!
I was then using my car as little as possible, topping up each time with oil that was costing me a fortune although being the cheapest available...up to when my father got very sick, and I wanted to see him as often as possible. So, in the engine went the used oil the understanding mechanic gave me after having filtered it the best I could. This actually helped the car lasting and doing hundreds of kilometers it would not have been possible to do otherwise, and allowed me to spend with my father a few more precious moments.
The end of that poor, but stalwart little car came...when the last day of may father's life came too! With my two sisters in tears in the back, we went as quickly as possible on the highway, engine smoking like a cuttlefish, in hope to grasp a few last moments of our beloved dying dad. The car just made it with banging conrods and hardly able to move anymore, but that was it's end. Of my dad too.....

              • Some of us experience fuel being stolen from the bike while its parked on open-roads at night. Unfortunate few lose some parts as well.
This has worked for me as a solution, though it was not intended for it: "A bike cover"

It does take some effort to remove it and steal, a thief for whom time and skill to do it silently is very important will rather check the easier bikes around.

the best solution in this case is a good fuel lock.... costs around 200rs.... a must accessory if you are into touring....

                      • Had a 90+90 (to and fro) solo trip from city to town. Lane was single with max 1 car/truck on each side. The roads was full zig zag with lots of uphill and downhills. Ride was great overtaking all vehicles. Speed was 75-85 km/hr range and with short bursts of 95-100 max whenever needed (while overtaking). Gear changing was @ 5-7 rpm range and sometimes 6 and above was must because of the zig-zag, uphill/downhill road conditions. Apologizes for both Bro. Luke and Bro. Mik in the gear changing argument. Vehicle was hugging to the road. 'Bliss on the corners' tag by Bro. Shivang was like crystal clear fact. The ride was great and enjoyed and can term as one of the best moments of my new fz bike.

Guys a question. I had taken new engine oil in a small can in case of needing top-up. Forward journey when reached at destination and checked the level, needed a top-up of 30-50 ml (not sure). The level was showing at the lower end and did a top-up but while returning back and when checked the oil was not all consumed. Just want to ask you guys if it is normal. Engine temperature was very normal (felt by hand as always used to). Mileage was also good. After doing such aggressive ride, still the mileage shows 38km/l and has yet to get reserve. Surely 40+ is on the cards.

Just got reminded of Mic's style of riding when sometimes I had to stay on 4th gear even at the speed of 60km/hr. Perfect road for guys like Mic to fire.

It'll take time for oil to settle down to get an accurate level.

Humm.. someone is having good time with the machine..

There is no need to take oil along a 90km + 90 km trip. Especially on a new, softly broken in bike like yours. Always fill upto the top level mark before such rides and go for it without worrying about oil level.

30-50 ml oil consumption is very high for a 90km ride! But, I am sure it is a miscalculation nothing else. You are not consuming 300-500 ml / 1000 km. Isnt it?

Did wait 2 hours to check the level, I know that it takes time to settle. Warmed up the cold engine and then checked as per the manual.

First time pouring 50ml after riding 1200 km on current engine oil.
